So if you're going to use that as an example then I'll use this; The original Black Label Edition of Crash Bandicoot 1 tends to go for £25-30 or more yet the digital version on PSN is sold for only £3.99, so with that said, this is overpriced for a digital copy.
Nintendo should be selling their VC games at £3.99 or less, especially if they're NES then the price should be £1.50 or less.
Exactly.

All the things you mentioned had been reworked to run on different systems with major upgrades in graphics and features, this is the same same ROM from 20 years ago with nothing new and all you can come up is it runs on the Wii U tablet, the thing that the system was designed around?
No my friend paying Nintendo anything for the old roms is stupid paying them twice for something you already purchased is idiotic.

What a rip off, can't believe they're making people pay for having it on the Wii, it's the same ROM and most likely the same emulator on the Wii.

Nice find? No, not a deal at all, merely the usual overprice for Nintendo back catalogue emulations...

I'd love that to be the case, but every other IP from every other publisher, do not charge a price based on console generation they charge based on the intrinsic value of their IP. Resident evil, metal gear solid, final fantasy are all sold for twice the price of crash. based on the IP's value. The pricing will always be in the top bracket to ensure that intrisic value is maintained. Not right but 100% how the world works.
This i do disagree with :P For starters, the Wii U allows the user to boot into it's Wii mode, So they can play this without upgrading should they wish to. So you can play it on the big screen like normal, or even on the gamepad's screen but you still get the normal visuals & sound and of course wii peripharals need to be used.
The Wii U's virtual console line up are polished, and made to be as bright and crisp as possible, something the wii wasn't capable of. being able to do remote play with the game pad...without needing wii peripharals. it's a small upgrade fee.
There's no other precedent, quite like this on home consoles, nintendo are the only ones allowing you to play 5th gen games on a 8th gen system. & the only example where an emulated 5th gen game purchased on 7th gen can be bought up to 8th gen.
Nintendo do it how it should be done.
If you buy bully on ps3, there's no upgrade optiion for the ps4 version. All they've done is add trophy support and the ability use ps4's features. If i want to play bully on my ps4 I HAVE to buy it AGAIN, no upgrade option. that's what they'll keep doing too. thats essentially what nintendo do (minus visual upgrade, ps3 version looks identical to ps4) except they give you the option to upgrade to use the new features.

It just isn't worth £8.99 for the reasons stated. I don't want nor going to repeat myself.
You're really scrapping the bottom of the barrel with that one. xD

Im 30 with a good job, so can afford to pay for the games I bought and sold in my childhood - not play them illegal via other means...anyway, this crap is getting outta hand and I am getting bored.

If it was exactly the same and easy as that then the wii and wii u would share the same library and it wouldn't take them extra effort or time to get them to work on the wii u

If there were a Dislike option for comments, you'd have my vote, m8.
If you're as old as some of us, the thought of paying AGAIN for the SAME game we saved from part time jobs or pocket money, just makes you want to punch the cat.
We've paid for these things, time and again.
Imagine working at 16 to save £300 for a console, for that console to then be £185 after 4 months.
Imports like Starfox 64, Turok 2, Gild n Perfect Dark, £75 each (£90 PD!), plus £60 for the adapter.
Unless it's specifically for the WII U, I don't buy a thing Nintendo nowadays.
And yeah, my Amazon fire tv plays em all great!

So what, Super Mario 64 is currently on sale for half price on the eshop, castlevania symphony of the night is £7.99 to download on playstation - I suppose you think that's too expensive as well?
Just because you are too tight to pay what is a reasonable amount for a great game that is still highly playable doesn't make it a rip off.
It has new features, such as off tv play - I have the last of us on the ps3, does that mean I should be able to get the ps4 version for free? - people had COD ghosts on the ps3 and paid £9.99 to upgrade to ps4 version and etc etc. - you cant get an improved and better version of an existing game for free just because you own it, that is stupid.
