Pakistani honey mangoes are very nice but the last batch I bought were terrible ..
I then checked on the country of origin and it was grown in Mexico !!!!!
Avoid these unless they are grown in Pakistan.

ok deal, you can get single ones for about 70p in some supermarkets so 6 would be £4.20, nothing special really and if you don't like them you're stuck with a whole box.

Do no waste your money on any other mangoes. Indian mangoes are best. Even from Pakistani shops look for Indian mangoes - Kesar or Alfonso. Its expensive as it does not grow anywhere else,even in India it can only be grown in certain regions because of the climate and soil condition.

:laughing::laughing: Priceless!
Alphonso mangoes are not as great as you make them out to be. There aee many other varieties of mangoes originating from Pakistan which are far nicer. You need to expand your horizons :smiley:
would be very hard to find alphonso now as they are out of season.

If you want sweet, juicy, no stringy bits, soft mango look for Chaunsa, Sindhri, Kesar or Alphonso. You can get this predominately from Asian shops.
If you want hard, sour, stringy, crunchy mangos buy from any major supermarket. They are usually big, round.look good but taste like sheet.

I stand by my comments. Indian mangoes are the best mangoes. Ban had nothing to do the the taste or the quality of the mangoes. It was to do with the import of fruit flies along with the mangoes and some other vegetables. This ban was lifted soon after the changes were made to the process that quarantines mangoes before export.
India produces more than 40% of mangoes out of world production. Honestly, don't waste your money on any other mangoes. Pakistan, Jamaica etc are not even amongst top 5 mango producers in the world.

I disagree. Alphonso and kesar are the best.
Even my pakisnani friends don't buy honey mangoes and its reflected in the price. They are lot cheaper compared to Alphonso and Kesar. You have to pay for the premium quality.

Seriously people. If you have not tried alphonoso mangoes you don't know what you are missing. Its hilarious to see some people here singing praises of Pakistani mangoes. Do yourself a favour, don't waste your money on anything else.

Ban had nothing to do with the quality or the taste of the mangoes. Why don't you read your own link before you post it. It was to with the fruit flies.
I don't think you have ever tried Indian mangoes or you would not be making such proclamations. :-)

best place for asian mangoes the man in east ham high street in the street stall. alphonso, kesar plentifully available now chausa to follow. bangla market in shadwell also not bad but less reliable on quality. never heard of sindhri before sounds like a good one.
i heard rumours that tesco, asda and m&s having special kesar promotion this year but still waiting and seeing.
