If you're a particularly shameless cheapskate (that's everyone here, right?) you may be able to pay even less for them.
Many Waitrose stores offer a discount corresponding to the cost of a parking ticket if your bill is £10 or more before all offers/discounts. [Some stores may have a higher threshold, and some don't have this option depending on their customer parking setup.] You don't actually need to have bought a parking ticket to get that discount. The discount could be 40p, 80p, £1 or whatever. It varies from store to store.
Go in, get a Quick Check handset and scan these:
- Your MyWaitrose card
- £2.15 Cappuccino or latte [free with MyWaitrose card]
- £2.00/£2.90/£3.00 Guardian or Observer newspaper [free with MyWaitrose card]
- £6.00 Two of these Sure deodorants [£1.80 with BOGOF & PYO Offers]
So the total pre-offers bill is at least £10.15. At the Quick Check machine, while the amount you pay is reduced to £1.80, there should be a button for the parking discount before you press Debit/credit card button. Press that to have 80p (or whatever the discount for your branch is) knocked off the bill. So you'd only pay £1.00 for two Sure + newspaper + coffee.

Also, whenever you change your picks, you should receive an email to confirm that.

In my experience you can add/change your PYO Offers picks and the change is immediate. I've done it in-store immediately before scanning an item with the Quick Check handset. It might even work even after you scan it, as long as you do it before paying.
Did you remember to click "confirm your picks"? The way their web site works, you can pick & unpick things, but you have to click that button in order for the change to register. You could double-check it's worked by logging out and back in, then listing your picks.
Also make sure you've got the exact same product you added to your picks. If it's a different size that isn't on PYO Offers you won't get the discount of course. The shelf price tags of products in PYO Offers have red bars on the left and right sides.
You could also try the Android or iOS PYO app which is easier than using the full web site to change picks if you're using your phone in-store.

You definitely pay £1.80 for two in-store. Smelling of strawberries and flowers as I do, I have no need for such things. But I rang up a couple on the Quick Check machine before voiding the transaction.

You have to add the product to your Pick Your Own offers. Did you do that?
Then the price you pay for two should be £3 - (20% × £6) = £1.80

Contains sticky aluminium. I prefer ones without sticky metal salts inside. Also some websites say aluminium can cause cancer.
