Another correspondent (mahmouddiaa) mentioned this item in response to an ad for a Tesco strimmer. This one is even cheaper and looks like it is about the same quality. It seems incredible (to me) that someone could manufacture, ship, store and sell a piece of equipment like this for the price of a haircut, but there we have it.
I use a similar size and type of strimmer, it is absolutely fine for a garden of about 100 m2.

"Suitable for small gardens" = estate agent speak for too small and underpowered to be of any real use
I have just checked in the garage, and noticed that our strimmer is the same model. I suppose we must have had it about 4 years, and I've probably re-wound the wire 2 or 3 times (it is a bit fiddly).
I take your point about cutting longer grass; I had a go at the patch of long grass and weeds I'd neglected at the side of the house the other day. I suppose it would have managed it but would have taken quite a while, so I decided to leave it and retrieve the petrol machine from our other house next week.

I got the same model last year, similer price. Needed to tackle some overgrown grass I had been to lazy to cut with the mower. Did the job but once the reel of plastic gets clogged up with grass and debris I wasnt able to redo the strimmer cord. Served its purpose but I think money would be better spent on a better model.
