No I'd wait longer honestly if you'll only be playing it casually.

I managed to get a copy from Amazon.com for under £12. I think the game is great but does feel incomplete.

I'd love to be able to play the Street Fighter games properly but I end up just button mashing, I struggle with basic moves such a the hadukan etc. I can never get the d-pad to do what I want so always give up.

End of the month for Story Mode and Ibuki, apparently. Or, eh, shortly thereafter.
Great game. Really enjoyed it. Massive transition from SF4 so I had to get used to that. I don't really play singleplayer so not too fussed about the content however I did only buy it a few weeks ago on eBay @ £20 so happy with that.
Had a few good games with Vanderlust on here too B)

I may bite also... when its a finished game :stuck_out_tongue:

After being burned with SF4 and its many later updates/iterations I wouldn't bother buying this, you can almost guarrantee Capcom are going to release a "super" version or similar. They will add more characters and continue to try to screw you for more money as it advances in age.
I get the game is fantastic, its just not worth buying yet.

They already guaranteed that there would not be any further iterations of the game. Its only ever going to be Sfv

Well worth it if you're into 2d fighters.
They should have released it as early release though as the release was pushed out of the door to make it in time for the tournament circuit.
I've never understood why you would want to play a single player fighting game but apparently plenty of people do. Story mode should be out at the end of the month. Unless you live in the country though you'll have a better time fighting online if you don't have anybody to play with locally.

Best fighting game ever made. They should have held off releasing for 6 months tho and packed it full of features. Well worth playing

If there is no stock nearby the next best as far as I am aware is £24.97 direct from Amazon
So glad this exclusive has ended a £20 scrap bin title... hate exclusivity on titles that are something I like and puts them out of reach

That is exactly what they said about SF4, remember Capcom is the same company that has no qualms using on disc DLC. The fact this price has come down so much indicates something is coming in the near future, E3 is next week I'm sure there will be something there. Capcom has form for releasing multiple version of any major release and that goes as far back as SF2.

What? Err? So your saying you find it incomplete (which it is) but your calling it the best fighting game ever made. Anyone else find this sentence a bit confusing lol.

I'm waiting until this goes free to play. Shouldn't be too long as the games community has died and the game bombed in sales also most of the hardcore have gone back to SF4.

Which hardcore players have gone back to SF4?
SF5 Tournament entrants are continuing to rise.
I do agree that the casual players have moved on, but not to SF4. Instead games like Pokken, Guilty Gear and Mortal Kombat X are their new home

The fighting mechanics are perfect. It's just a little lack luster in modes at the minute.

It might have perfect fighting mechanics (personally I prefer the alpha series) but that alone wouldn't make it the 'best fighting game ever' when the content is so minimal

Have you played it? Or are you just making assumptions based of YT videos?
Playing my mains from SF4 to SFV (which were charge characters and not shotos) and the same setups, jumps in, traps, even the zoning had all changed. Even if the frame advantage/minus changes ever so slightly it does impact on the gameplay to a point I looked like a rookie and that's why it was a massive transition.
Moves may look the same, but you cant play the same.

Got it yesterday from Smyths, played for like 15 minutes then packed it up. it's the absolute crap Street fighter ever. Very less characters, story mode is rubbish as well (only 4 fights then you are done 100%) .
The only good thing is the graphics.

I understand what you are saying, I had a similar feeling when first playing it as I was soooo used to SF4 and I was trying to play like I was still playing it. I had to ditch my main as I couldn't drop my habits from SF4 and picked a new character which was totally new and im back to loving it. I guess its down to whether you are into beatemups properly.
My only complaint is the damage control, especially with Ryu. If someone gets a psychic DP on me and spams the DP directions to combo into a super, the damage on that is unreal. Means I cant rush in and be agressive so much lol.

Yet the gameplay is the best in the series. Having a bunch of clone characters and throwaway single player content does not make a good game.

People do not go back in fighting games with the possible exception of smash melee. Game is much better and honest at high level play. They just need to get the input lag down on the ps4 version.
adam0812
8 Jun 16#35
The game likely wouldn't exist without sony's involvement. Not unreasonable it is console exclusive to ps4.
Ive notice the lag hell of a lot recently, i just thought it was down to my TV?!
adam0812
8 Jun 161#38
8f of input lag + whatever your tv adds, which could be another 3-4 frames. I play on PC with a gsync monitor which is about 3f input lag + < 1f from the monitor, which is a fairly tremendous difference. I play my friend on ps4 and there are situations I can react to where he just physically can't. Definitely an advantage. With the amount of fighting games now appearing on PC I would consider a PC if you can
Guilty gear has 1f input lag on PC vs 4f on ps4, you really feel attached to your char with that little delay.

8 Jun 16#39
8 frames of input lag, the highest of any modern fighter to date. This means jump ins are way better than they should be and footsies devolve into a pre emptive button pressing game rather than reactionary.
Stop being capcom shills, this game is absolutely mediocre from both a content and gameplay standpoint. They couldn't even keep up with their dlc release schedule and had to push the next character back a month. SF5 was rushed out the door a year early, plain and simple.
nomez
8 Jun 16#40
Wow that is a lot. Most of the input lag i suffer with is around the J.Fierce. The animation starts but he has landed before it comes out lol.

When i play SF4 on PS4 I usually check the players activities where it shows what they play. I have checked countless players activities that the person has played SFV and then went back to SF4.

Fair point. Theres probably some way to check the online SF4 numbers.
It'll be interesting to see if its alot more than SF5
