So the BioShock Collection has been announced. (so what?)
Well, it is released in September (13th) and if you own BioShock 1 and 2, you get the remaster upgrade free.
The good news? They're currently on sale in the Steam Summer Sale at £2.79 each.
It's worth noting that BioShock Infinite is not getting a remaster because it "already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings."

Are you checking the Bioshock bundle, rather than the Bioshock 2 store-page itself.

I think it's down to when the Bioshock 2 was released it was GFWL and when they switched to Steam they included the DLC free for existing keys with new keys being just Bioshock 2.
Sounds like they was going to put "Bioshock 2 or Bioshock 2 and Minerva's Den BioShock 2 DLC" then someone thought they would shorten, but failed to understand you the DLC wasn't standalone.

Well judging from my luck so far in my life it is terrible. The only thing I have ever won was a raffle and the prize was a massive teddy bear...

"The Collection free. If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or the Minerva's Den BioShock 2 DLC on Steam"
Sounds like you need Minervas Den DLC to to be eligible?

I believe I tried the code previously on Steam and it didn't work :disappointed: so I might be out of luck with that one. Still I have the old CD if I ever want to re-play it in its original state.

if you put the key in from the GFWL of Bioshock 2 you get Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Mirvenas Den DLC i believe...
i would imagine GFWL bioshock 1 gives you Bioshock 1 on steam also.
i just want to know if i need to buy Mirvirnas Den to get the upgraded version (a bit like dead island/riptide upgrade where you didnt need tohe dlc) or is it going to work like SKYRIM upgrade where you need to have all the dlc also..
didnt wanna waste £1.99 if its going to give it to me anyways..
but if not then i may aswell get it for the full enhanced experience for the full game+DLC, the statement doesnt make it clear (in terms of the Mirvirnas Den) hence a lot of confusion.

Do you get the currently paid DLC (Minerva's Den) for free in September?
Honestly the first two games are infinitely better then the last one :stuck_out_tongue:
Upgradeable weapons, better and more upgradable plasmids, gene tonics, alternative ammo, environmental interaction, real decisions which affect gameplay and ending, alternative styles of play like stealth, creating traps and turning enemies (inc machines) into allies, I could go on and on.
I highly recommend anyone who hasn't played them to give them a try and if Infinite is the only Bioshock game you've played they you in for one heck of a eye opening.

Mind if I ask why you moved to console? Most people I know who moved to PC have happily stayed there and only revisit consoles for the odd exclusives.

Does anyone know if you get Minerva's Den for free by just owning Bioshock 2 with the remaster? I assume it's just a menu option to launch from for 2, and that's what the article implies, but I'm starting to doubt myself after some people have been saying otherwise on Reddit, and I don't want to waste £2 buying the DLC if they'll give it to me anyway in September.

I've also been reading about it on Steam regarding that. There does seem to be some confusion regarding it, and 2K wasn't very clear with it.

i wonder if this has something to do with why we have not seen these games get BC which was announced months ago for the xbox one
wonder if we will see some sort of reduction for those who own these digitally on the ps3 or 360
