For starters BBC Store is BBC Worldwide commissioned programming and has absolutely nothing to do with Public Service.
Secondly to those who don't understand the (confusingly named) TV License, this actually funds ALL local radio, national radio, the website, news, sport, iPlayer, school reports, education initiatives for schools and a lot more.
Take all that away, what you have is Murdoch and crappy reality TV on ITV and commercial radio.
That's not to say the BBC don't have any waste, but that's why they are scrutinised so heavily.

Good for items up to £10, but I want to buy HD shows and the 50% offer that was on last weekend was far better. My voucher says £10 off when you spend £10, which isn't true as you have to buy something, and then spend £10 on your second order to get the full discount.

Must say that with the demise of the BBC Store and then encouraged to buy from the Digital Store, I haven't.
I still splash out on hard media (which is costly + takes up space). The reason I'm looking at the Digital Store is hoping that some stuff - like Dirk Gently which is only available on DVD, can be purchased to view in HD, and other programmes that never make it to hard media, become available. If I'm to switch to Digital however, it needs to be competitively priced, which it isn't. Only the 50% discount makes it worthwhile.

I have no issue with the general principle of the TBH licence, but as always; if the programs are TVL; they should be provided to the public at no extra cost as set out in the BBC's charter. Funnelling the money through a shell company doesn't change that.
If all the decent stuff is not publicly funded; that would raise the question of where on earth does the money go?

There's lots of reasons that cannot be the case, but the primary reasons being that the BBC commisions programmes from other programme makers under contract, in addition to in-house work.
The BBC PS sell the rights to content it is eligible to do so and those programmes are then sold globally, either in recorded form, or the IP/license to the brand. That money then comes back to PS in part to subsidise the few you pay.
Everything is publically funded, you just pay a fraction of the actual costs.

You also need to educate yourself on the TVL side of things, they have nothing to do with the BBC. They also have zero right to enter your property without a warrant - to get a warrant they need it approved in court, for that to happen they have to have confirmation you have a TV set. If its not visible and can't be heard you're safe, regardless.
