Sony are aware, it warns you in the manual. They were supposed to release a new strap to fix the issue.

may be worth calling the Sony care line can't say mine does this but to be honest I'm a biker so may not sweat as much.

I've looked everywhere for a solution and not came across this one. Sweatband works, so long as it doesn't rain. I'll give it a go although I still think its poor by Sony, with still no sign of the band they said would fix the issue.

Just use a second screen protector on the back of the watch with a bit cut out for the charging dock. It's well documented to get GPS running well.
And try ghost runner. It's a simply running/cycling app that uploads directly to strava etc.
It's the perfect running watch IMHO. And I can play my music on it too.

Any good cheapish smartbands for iOS?!
Paddy_o_furniture
4 Jun 16#52
Didn't dispute that, what I meant was that the watch has no built in (made by sony) GPS sports app. Ghostrunner is good, but it doesn't give you mile splits etc. Like I said watch is good, and I love having my music (via bluetooth headphones and saved playlist from google music) in once place. But the massive flaw that the GPS hates moisture is a massive let down. I'm back to 2 devices most runs as I can't trust it enough to accurately track my runs.

Got to be honest, I've been after a SmartWatch for over a year, and finally plunged and bought the SWR50 a couple of weeks ago, with the metal strap.
Screen size is misleading, any there's way too much bezel. It's a giant watch, with a huge face, and I found the actual screen size disappointing. Also, the display is just too...... yellow. The final straw was the access to the charging point was so awkward I sent it back.

I have it connected to an iphone 5s. Works well but you cant download apps so no gps support for running. Was hoping the last update would allow native gps support but its sadly missing.

I'm pretty sure that the Smartwatch 2 is not Android Wear based, so you might want to avoid that one.

Not quite true paddy I use Ghostrunner it has the standalone GPS support so you can leave your phone at home and upload when you get back. Also exports data to Strava so you can store mapping, section speeds, times, even compete

Guys the code does work (£30 off) and will expire on 2nd July. But it only works for new customers and its got to be a credit account!

Except the GPS is useless in moist conditions. Rain/Sweat it becomes useless. You can use a sweatband under the watch to stop sweat from affecting GPS performance, not alot you can do about rain.
If you're buying this to run with be warned. Also no native GPS/Sportswatch support, endomondo I have found works best.

Got the code to work too. Created the credit account, placed the order, and it took the £30 off the price of the watch, then went in to the account to pay off the remaining £62.99 with a one off card payment. It took my balance back to zero, with the full credit available again (which I won't be using!!)
Thanks op. Been wanting to try out a smart watch but couldn't justify the cost. For a little over 60 quid, can't say no!

that is probably the case, but there is nothing stopping you from paying with a credit card against the credit account. that is what I did when I purchased one last time it was on offer. I went for collection which saves the delivery charge.
