The best file manager on android after ES File Explorer turned to the dark side (Cheetah Mobile).
Drag and drop files over FTP, SMB, Cloud services (dropbox etc), batch rename, read archives, make you a sandwich, basically everything you want to do with files on your android device.
This is an in-app purchase - install the free app then unlock the premium for 75p.

Obscure? I use otg and you have to pay extra for that. I use cloud storage and mega you have to pay again for that. I use my nas lan devices at home/work and you have to pay more for that. Just seems alot of features that you get free on most other app you keep having to pay for. But yes if you use a limited number of features it might be ok but for me it's not worth it. Haven't voted either way.

The free ES File explorer isn't bad at all it does what you need it to do; its got a pretty high user review count of 2,555,283, or that users voted it 4.5 out of 5 and around 100,000,000 - 500,000,000 people have installed it.
I don't think they bloated ES to encourage people to buy the pro version. I used the FREE version forever and was so happy with it that I wanted to support the developer and pay the full price for the PRO version.

Using it good couple of years now. Worth almost any money, not mentioning 75p. Bargain.

just reading this about es explorer. apparently it bloated it's free version in a way to make the pro version more appealing. I dont know the ins and outs it's just what I quickly read online.

Do people still use Root Explorer (Free/Pro)
I'm with Root Explorer to start with and never looked around.

I use Root Explorer (Pro).
I bought ES File Explorer for 10p, but don't use it.
Reports say that ES contains/contained spyware. I block most of my apps from the internet anyway.

Would use this but noticed you have to keep paying for extra features.

Which features? To me it seems you only pay more for quite obscure add-ons that very few people would need

This was talked about on the android app addicts podcast. It was a recommended file manager replacement for ES file explorer. They said ES file explorer had become bloated. Just installed as 75p seems a good price.

I use ES File exp pro and use it to view stuff on my Google drive and my home pc via my VPN, should I be worried that those crafty Chinese could now have access to my files?

Lol no they did some things to their free version like putting a charging screen on your lockscreen with ads but no spy Ware that's just gossip. The pro version at the moment seems to be free of all the annoying features they added to the free version
And you can set it up to view in the browsers if conencted on a network.

Great explorer tbh. I changed from ES since ES has like others said gone bloated with a lot of rubbish that I don't need

Yeah I use an old version of ES Explorer (v3.2.5.5). I think they were bought out, updated the free version removing features & adding bloat and made a "pro" version. I paid 10p for it a while back to try it out, but went back to the old version.

The adware they recently added to it has kinda put people off.

Total commander is the best android file explorer, and it's the best price of all: FREE. ES explorer and it's ilk had their day when you had to go to sourceforge to get TC, but now it's on the play store it's really not worth the effort to use anything else, particularly since the old split screen layout actually works even better on a touch platform than it ever did in windows.
