You're not wrong but that was too aggressive for what was said previously...
I would have probably gone with, "it's probably not worth your time with returns etc for £2"

A good deal... for who?
Let me explain:
You want to:
- Repackage a pair of used shoes
- Mail them back to the retailer
- Repurchase the same pair of shoes
- Save £2
Right... that's not a £2 saving mate. That's a headache.
Some issues. Have you thought about all the excess environmental energy that gets wasted in the ship-reship that goes to save you £2?
Even then, purely on a financial, tit-for-tat basis... the retailer will not pay for refund postage for items you "simply did not want" as it was not a fault on their behalf, I guarantee you it will cost you more than £2 to ship these items back, moreso if you do not have the original packaging.
Once you return the item... the retailer may decide to charge a restocking fee for returning items for no reason (and quite rightly so, they now cannot sell the item as new and take a significant loss, all so you could save £2)...
The process would take about two weeks for you to: return the product, contact them for refund, process refund, re purchase same shoes, wait again for same shoes. The return itself could take over a week. By then, most likely the deal will have expired as it seems to be a limited sale. So much for a £2 saving when it goes back up £10. Even then... it will take another 3-5 days for the re-purchased shoes to arrive.
Taking into account the opportunity cost of such saving... in 30 mins you would have made £2.65 if you earned the minimum wage. Your net profit = -£0.65
So lets recap. You want to 'save £2'. These are your outcomes:
- You are more environmentally unfriendly
- You damage the retailers livelihood directly
- You wait two weeks
- You have an increase of £2 in your bank account
- You officially become a ****
well done mate, well done.

Trying to figure out if these would be better for the price as they are waterproof. What does everyone think?

I'd buy from Amazon for the customer service, but the reviews mention a very stiff heel and tight around the toes.

Cheers for this. Off to the lakes in August and needed new walking shoes (or boots) for me and son.
Went through Quidco for 5% cashback, but missed the discount codes posted... DOH!
Never mind, paypal funds (from ebay) covered 2/3rds of the cost anyway, so basically go two pairs for a tenner of my own cash.

Collected mine at lunchtime... cant complain at that... C&C delivery within 24hrs.
Shoes look decent, well made and pretty sturdy... unlike my last pair of walking boots, but they were from Lidl or Aldi!!
