We've blagged Sky newbies (those who haven't been with Sky broadband, TV or talk in the last 12 months) a cracking deal via this specific Sky line rent & broadband* link. It's a year's contract and the key is half-price line rental and 'free' unlimited up-to-17Mb speed broadband. Plus, we've blagged £50 bill credit, which covers almost six months' line rental.
Here's how to get it:
Get a code NOW: There are only 15,000 codes, apply via this Sky link* and you'll be sent an email with your code (one per home, not transferable, pls only get one if you'll use it). Once you've got a code, from 10am Fri 10 JuneSky will send you an email with a bespoke link you can use to sign up. You'll have until11.59pm Thu 16 June.Card verification. You'll pay £5 to verify your card when ordering - it's refunded later.Half-price line rental. It's £17.40 a month, so you pay half that, £8.70/mth (so £104.40/yr). If Sky increases line rental (as most firms do regularly), you'll then pay half the new amount.Unlimited broadband 'free' for 12 months. It's unlimited up-to-17Mb speed. You also get a 'free' compulsory router, but there's £6.95 p&p added to your first bill. After the 12-month contract ends, broadband's £10/mth if you stay. We've blagged you £50 bill credit. It'll be added to your account once your bill's active. Actually you'll have £55 credit (the £50 plus the refundable £5). The first £6.95 pays router delivery, the rest is used up on line rental and calls, until it's gone, meaning you won't shell out for up to six months
If you add up the line rental, broadband and router p&p, the total over the 12-month contract is £111.35 (at current prices, before calls). But, after the £50 bill credit, it's £61.35 for the year, equiv £5.11/mth before calls.
- What about calls? None are included. Call costs are a bit more than BT to landlines but a bit less to mobiles (11.5p/min to landlines and mobiles, 16.9p connection-fee). Sky also has an unbilled calls credit limit – see below for info.
- Need a new line? If you don't have a line, or you're switching from cable, you'll need to pay £20 for a new line. There's a chance that you'll still need to pay if you do have a BT line (see full information below for why) though if this is the case, you'll be told on sign up.
- Direct debit is the only way to pay. You won't be able to get this deal otherwise.

Just an update - had asked for a start date of July 8th, but was given 4th of Aug - even though - it was confirmed that they don't have to sent an "engineer" to switch the Landline - as there is an active one already here.
called CS, been told that - I need to cancel my original order and then re-order, and when asked, was told they are happy to ( well not really) to transfer all the deal agreed to the new order - waiting to get that in writing. that way my start date could be ard 8th of July
hope this info is of some help to people in my similar position ( who needed BB any earlier, before Aug 2016)

The SR101/2 are really very poor in terms of wireless range - the Q hub will be way better - if you really need extra wired clients then just connect a cheap as chips (gigabit) router to the hub (about 10-15 quid).
pill
18 Jun 16#169
The reviews seem to rate it - only negative seems to be that it only has 2 ethernet ports (as stated by another Hottdeals member) but they are gigabit ports not the 100/10 as on standard router.

my mistake;
ok its £5pm for 12m then £10pm for 6m for sky fibre(25gb limit) =18mnth. so after 12m goes upto full price line rental for the remaining 6months.
its £10pm for 6m then £20pm for 6m for sky fibre unlimited. =12months.

if you upgrade to the fibre its 18mth contract meaning you will pay full price for line rental and fibre for 6months after the 12months deal is up. I was going to do it until I found that out.

deal has gone thru fine with my family relative as the account holder & paying bill via credit card & not DD as was incorrectly mentioned as mandatory on the MSE website

my order seems OK so far & I used my relatives name with the forename & surname reversed (if the surname is the same the system considers you the same person & rejects the application)
as it happens Im actually set up to pay via everything credit card & not direct debit
also I used a virtual credit card from entropay.com - entropay do not provide the merchant with any personal details so I could probably have used any name I wanted
From what ive read sky do not seem to do a credit check since you 'pay in advance' so it looks like there is fairly limited identify checking hapening

...Once you've got a code, from 10am Fri 10 June Sky will email a bespoke link you can use to sign up
So cant see how you could get cashback too due to the special link you sign up from
The current deal at TCB isnt as good even taking into account the £100 M&S voucher & approx. £35 cashback
( plus I'd rather have half price line rental than £100 voucher that I'd have to sell on ebay )
this deal is also better as its all done by Sky & no unreliable third party cashback site to worry about

I had thought the same, but surely when you enter the telephone number it will come up as an existing Sky customer? If anyone knows a work around (without having to get another line installed) I'm all ears! :-D

took this up , last year with the 100 credit, which was a gr8 deal, coming to an end very soon.
I know this one says, only for newbies, but what are the chances I can get my other half to get this offer ( at the same address) - anyone done this / thinking about this?

So annoying I don't think I can get this as I'm a current Sky TV subscriber but haven't had their broadband for over 18 months. Best I can get is free broadband but pay full price line rental for 12 months so no thanks.

12 months half price line rental for 12 months. After 12 months standard Line Rental price applies, currently £17.40 a month. This offer is for new customers to Sky only incl. past customers who have not had Sky in the last 12 months. Customers can not be existing Sky TV customers. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Customers who require a new line will need to pay £20 fee to cover the OpenReach engineer's visit.

Good deal if I wasn't about to switch to Plusnet I would've probably gone for this.

Have you contacted their usually-excellent Broadband Support? Because presumably there must be a fault on your line externally or internally for this to occur. I personally have had "free" Sky Broadband for 7 years at least and it has worked flawlessly throughout EXCEPT when a genuine fault has developed (e.g. high winds causing damage to line), in which case they have resolved rapidly.
Not even thought about Fibre from them, get 13mbps DL consistently with "normal" broadband and can't think of a reason to upgrade... bearing in mind first ADSL was 0.5mbps... and that was from 0.03mpb dial-up... somehow the 3x increase in headline speed for Fibre doesn't seem worth it given the first two major upgrades were 20x faster approx.!

Broadband with Sky had been great,no issues at all. Good speed at my address, they do seem to cap the 'upto' 17mb at about 10mb at my place. It did go up,but for 'stability' it was lowered to 10. Still great tho.

Yeah I don't see why not. I took the deal last year with the £100 credit and added a calls package no problem. Just means you burn through the credit quicker

Great deal, not quite as good as the same deal from last year with £100 credit, but still better than pretty much anything else out there!
Does anyone know if you can just add one of the calls packages on top?

signed up as deal coming to an end and thinking of ditching sky and sticking to streaming
If say the problems arise that darzen describe then surely that would be grounds to terminate though so nothing ventured nothing gained

I used to pay £90 a month and the internet was good , hardly ever had a problem.
Signed up to this deal last year and the internet has been horrendous, drops out several times a day. Can't watch streamed movies as it's guaranteed to lose connection at least once during the film.
Speeds as low as 0.04mbps, upload 0.01. That was not an isolated incident either. Would never sign up with them again, would rather pay alot more to get decent broadband.
Opening post

I wonder does it start increasing after a few days?
called CS, been told that - I need to cancel my original order and then re-order, and when asked, was told they are happy to ( well not really) to transfer all the deal agreed to the new order - waiting to get that in writing. that way my start date could be ard 8th of July
hope this info is of some help to people in my similar position ( who needed BB any earlier, before Aug 2016)
So I guess it's been used already
thank you for your response
Is it considerably better?
Just signed up after switching from Plusnet who had a good initial offer but now out of contract couldn't match this.
I had Sky b/b before when they took over O2 broadband and to be honest I had more buffering problems with Plusnet.
Secondly I've paid the £20 extra for the better modem (Sky Q hub) - anyone else chose this option?
P
ok its £5pm for 12m then £10pm for 6m for sky fibre(25gb limit) =18mnth. so after 12m goes upto full price line rental for the remaining 6months.
its £10pm for 6m then £20pm for 6m for sky fibre unlimited. =12months.
been using fast 4G mobile data (via those HUKD favorite EE 100gb sims) so going to have to get used to slower non fibre landline data speeds again
deal has gone thru fine with my family relative as the account holder & paying bill via credit card & not DD as was incorrectly mentioned as mandatory on the MSE website
TIA

I'm currently with Plusnet. Do I need to get a migration code/MAC code from them or let them know i'm leaving before applying for this SKY deal?
Think I can give notice of my current sky account at the beginning of July so hopefully It just overlaps and no more . Obviously using a slightly different name to gain account  ?
208-167..just 41
Because i have 2 months left of my current contract with bt
The signs of our time I guess?, lol.
My husband has a different surname to me so I thought it should have worked Has anyone else has had this problem. And what's the way round it
That's what we did
as it happens Im actually set up to pay via everything credit card & not direct debit
also I used a virtual credit card from entropay.com - entropay do not provide the merchant with any personal details so I could probably have used any name I wanted
From what ive read sky do not seem to do a credit check since you 'pay in advance' so it looks like there is fairly limited identify checking hapening
It's ok - I used this one.... http://www.sky.com/shop/offercode hope it helps others too !
unfortunately , we have not heen able to proceed with your order..
Is that error message coming for anyone?
Sorry I'm just getting impatient waiting ! Lol
if you only have relatives with same surname then mispell their surname instead so you can keep things legit
Let me know how you get on.
If I can't get a cheap deal with Sky I'll be going back to Virgin.
it didnt work

So using another persons details at the same address doesnt seem to work
Couldn't choose a later date although i would have like too!
Shame you can not use both deals as I am currently looking for the best deal for broadband plus variety pack.
So cant see how you could get cashback too due to the special link you sign up from
The current deal at TCB isnt as good even taking into account the £100 M&S voucher & approx. £35 cashback
( plus I'd rather have half price line rental than £100 voucher that I'd have to sell on ebay )
this deal is also better as its all done by Sky & no unreliable third party cashback site to worry about
I know this one says, only for newbies, but what are the chances I can get my other half to get this offer ( at the same address) - anyone done this / thinking about this?
