May still be a bit expensive for a bin but I have a TINY kitchen and it fits perfectly. Also it has a lock which is great for keeping children or pets out! They also come with a 5 year warranty.
'The team at simplehuman pride themselves in solving the small irritations of life, taking a seemingly mundane object like a bin and making it into the best receptacle for rubbish that it can possibly be. This slim space-saving design which fits comfortably into really narrow gaps is just one example of what makes a simplehuman bin different.
The treadle of a pedal bin is often the first thing to give up, but simplehuman bin pedals are engineered from steel to last more than 150,000 steps (more than 20 steps per day for 20 years). Super-slim, this bin is ideal for small spaces and the sturdy, silent-close lid with patented Lid Shox technology has slim profile hinges so it can sit really close to a wall without banging. Importantly for families with children or curious pets, the lid can be locked between uses with a clever slide lock but, if you need it to, will stay open as long as you wish for bigger chores and easy emptying. There are also built-in wheels at the back which make the bin a doddle to move.'

Good find op, I'm sick of my black round bin from asda as my 18 month old can open the lid-gross! Would love to get this as sounds child proof, but not sure what to do with the existing bin which still works

Recently bought this from amazon, blends in nicely with black/darker coloured units and the dimensions are perfect to fit in many kitchens. The foot lever works well too, unlike some curver ones which break easily. Normal bin bags are fine too, I wouldn't bother with the simple human ones as they're pretty expensive.
Blimey, I have become domesticated...

I've had one of these for some years now - good quality and fits great in my small kitchen too!

Had a play with one of these in JL / HoF / BHS, I can't remember which and the pet proof clip on top is awful, it was a similar price when I was looking, tried about four of them and each one the clip was really stiff to put one. Put me off sadly

May have been a dodgy one. Mine is really easy to put on but not so easy for my 2 year old :innocent:

Got one similar to this and they're great. Less than half the price I paid 18 month ago, but still overpriced I think,
