eBuyer have just released a code SSD that brings this SanDisk 960GB Ultra II SATAIII 2.5inch SSD down to £149.99 - seems to be the cheapest around at the mo but am sure Amazon will price match at some point. Code is only valid until midnight. Excellent reviews

I would recommend spending an extra £15 and getting a Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, miles better and a 2 year warranty from CEX ( perhaps longer from Samsung )

Oh of course, Amazon's CS is top notch, any faults any they'll sort it out for you and generally give you free months of prime to compensate. I just know when talking to any CS, be pleasant and polite, you're better giving the carrot than the stick. Not only could you make someone's day but you'll be more likely to get someone who is willing to help you and even go beyond their duties.

Never had an issue with eBuyer and I've been using them for about 10 years. Dealt with their CS plenty of times and always found them more than friendly and helpful!

Does depend on who you get sometimes. I've been using them for years but I've found it's way less hassle with Amazon (so far).

They don't seem to have dropped any further, nor increase in capacity beyond 2TB for the mainstream.

Yeah maybe a bit optimistic :smile: to be fair SSD's are pretty damned cheap for the decent performance boost they offer.

I got one a few weeks back, same price, same retailer. Awesome piece of kit for my (relatively undemanding) needs.

I simply can't believe I now have 1Tb of solid state storage in my cheapy cheap set-up that has been inspired mostly by HUKD deals! I started work in 1992, which was when the world's first terabyte databases were built (by WalMart and CapitalOne, I believe) at huge expense. Just amazing.

bought this on Amazon in january at £150. surely after 6 months prices should be lower now. It is definitely quick enough though,got it im a laptop and it flies.not voted either way.

It's quite a poor performing ssd, I personally use this as a second ssd to put my games on and use something like a Samsung as a boot drive.

If you're coming from a hard drive, fine get it, if you have a premium ssd and want more storage I wouldn't use it as a boot drive

Good price but remember this is a low end SSD. For most people it'll be absolutely fine and is certainly a good upgrade if you're coming from a hard drive.

The key factor is whether you write more than 12GB (is that the slc cache size for this model?) at any one time. If so you'll exceed the cache and writes will slow down. Probably only applies to 4K video editors or server workloads.
