Ended up going for an excellent Bosch a few weeks ago when it was £200 off, mainly because the Samsung machines we were looking at were very new and didn't have as many user reviews, plus their warranty isn't as comprehensive. They do look promising though.

Only 8gb? That's where you're going wrong, you at least need a 128gb model :stuck_out_tongue:

The discount code, LKA 20 has expired. Anyone got another discount code, please?
I'm going for other Bosch appliances in my kitchen too like an oven. Not cheap at around £500 so is there a reference web site which can tell where my Bosch appliance is made ?
Hopefully not, I did hear that... but I am a good complainer

The one I'm looking at is a WAT model. Should I steer clear ?

thats because they don't have any. The warranty is just a domestic and general insurance policy and they will just farm out any work to a service agent. Samsung don't employ a single engineer nor back up their own warranty.

So is the 5 year warranty still on?? The URL to register appliance on samsungs website is not working

"10 year parts warranty" ...only if you take hugely overpriced Hotpoint engineer
remember if you dont register appliance within 90 days it reverts to 2 year warranty guys be really careful

If Curry's are advertising 5 year on the webpage, they'll be in some trouble if they don't honour it surely?

let hope you dont need to... 5 year insurance policy, none of their own engineers and poor parts availability.

Experiences vary, and I may be an outlier - have had very poor experience with our Samsung Washer-dryer, and with customer service. Recently gave up and replaced ours with a more expensive Bosch (despite having cheaper Samsung '5 year guarantee' options), and have sworn to not buy Samsung appliances again.
As said, experiences vary...

Did you turn the machine on though?
sorry can't help my self  I have an eco bubble machine and the long parts and labour were 5yr the best thing, not needed to use it yet.

I have just checked with Samsung myself and they have no info if/when the 5 year warranty will be running again, they said just to keep checking their website :disappointed:

Bosch WAW or WAY series are made in Germany... really great machines

The only downside for me is the drum size. I am looking for at least a 9kg drum so that I can wash my duvets.
Maybe something to consider. :sunglasses:

Been like that a while. I used to work in Comet about 15 years ago and knew of the lower range models that were made in Spain rather than Germany.

This is a screen grab of the highest scoring on Which? Speaks for itself.
How do you know if the Bosch machine you're buying has 'cheap' parts? The one I'm looking at is £499!

Same here. The beeps are annoying on finish but can be turned off. Good value.

Too big a risk for me, just cos they've always been 5 years, doesn't mean they always will be. Maybe they've decided it was costing them too much and the one that expired yesterday was the last one. I might try phoning Samsung CS and see if they know.

Typical my Hotpoint finally gave up the ghost yesterday (keeps throwing the belt, plus bearing shot) Anyone know where else you can get this (or another decent one) with a 5 year warranty? John Lewis just use the Samsung one which expired yesterday too. :disappointed:

These machines has been always sold with 5 years warranty... so pretty sure that new promotion is starting today but not adwertised yet...

Cheaper Bosch machines are now made in Spain not Germany, lots of reports of not being like they were. I have a 13yr old Bosch machine still runs well but would seriously consider both Samsung and LG for my next machine. seems like a really good deal

i have a Bosch and it's good. I have had no issues in 2 1/2 years but only time will tell if it will last any longer than any other brand. I do doubt it. These seem like a safe buy with a 5 year warrantee.

The Bosch that I have is pure rubbish from Currys'. 1200rpm and the clothes were wet and it still jumps up and down after the legs being fixed. 15 minutes is quick, but the next 30C cycle takes 1.58 hrs for a watch and the timer is ALWAYS WRONG and it ends up with 2 hours plus. Now, it sounds like metal clanging during the spin cycle. There is Bosch and BOSCH!
Is this a washer-dryer or a washing machine? Thanks.

Bought one of these last year under a deal for the exact same price at currys. Brilliant machine, been used daily all that time and is like new, clothes come out almost dry on the daily wash which is less than an hour.
Would recommend you keep the filter clean at least every 4 weeks, dead easy to do on this machine

I bought the 12 kg model a few years ago, has been in (almost) daily use, works well, cleans well, and isn't too noisy either. Use it on the 'Daily Wash' cycle which is around 52 minutes.
Opening post
Capacity: 8 kg
Spin speed: 1400 rpm
Quick wash time: 15 minutes
Energy rating: A+++
Five-year manufacturer’s guarantee

Old one died due to a circuit board failure
New one (8gb 1400 spin 'smart wash') was £249 from Currys - collected and installed (by me) same day
10 year parts warranty - if it helps
