It really is. Its a trainwreck but that is like what you said is what makes it so compelling and you just can't stop looking. Even then the gameplay of RE6 is brilliant but most people won't give it a chance because the internet told them they aren't allowed to enjoy it.

For all the flack Resident Evil 6 gets, it's easy to forget it actually scores an entirely respectable 74% on Metacritic. The problem is: it's not what Resident Evil fans want/wanted, and there are/were better action games.

I still remember sighing when I unlocked yet another campaign (the game absolutely refuses to end), but I'm almost tempted to go back. Probably the same mentality that led me to play Deadly Premonition to completion; technically the worst game I've ever played, yet somehow utterly compelling.

Also, how come no one ever mentions Resident Evil Zero?! Again, not amazing, but it's a decent entry for fans of the old-school mechanics (with some occasionally-neat use of the two-character system).

RE4 is a classic and why Capcom's remastered the damn game so many times already. What's funny though, in RE4 you kill Europeans (white Spanish) and no one had a problem with it but in RE5 with Africans (black ones, 'cause Africa has white Africans too) and it got labelled "racist". So, I guess the moral of the story is that killing whites is OK but blacks is a no-no.

Maybe I'm looking into it deeper than I should but that's what happens when people use double-standards. It's a game so who cares.

They are coming out on disc but seem to be difficult to find from UK supplier. Play-Asia have them all on disc for just over £14 but then you have to pay £3.99 delivery

I play games for gameplay not storytelling and if I wanted a story i'd read a book. Funny as well as Uncharted games also have crap stories which is whats ironic. Uncharted has great writing and acting but the actual stories are garbage fodder.

False. The combat has improved with each game and RE6 especially as it adds changes including quick shots, cover and sliding whereas Uncharted literally has the same combat over four games. They literally left it the same.

​hard to say what resident evil is any more, there have been more games that people consider aren't RE than are. personally only 1,2 and 3 feel resident evil to me, so I'm prob the one that's wrong.

​Also combat in resident evil hasn't changed in 5 games (4, 5, 6, revelations 1 & 2). Stale combat indeed.

​Funny thing with re4 is that they could've named it anything else and it would've still been a good game. Because it has the title resident evil, you already have the fan Base to accept the change.

I found 4 an alright game. It was definitely not resident evil. Same with 5 and the crap game 6 was, I gave up after just a level, buggy game on the ps3.

I'm glad they've changed resident evil again. This new first person horror is more exciting then what resident evil has been for many years. There's so much you can do with the same characters and p*ss poor story lines, just give up and make new characters.

Well Resident evil 4 was a masterpiece and that was an action game. Also you make it out like theres barely any horror games when it seems like that is getting overdone like action games are. Horror games like Outlast aren't fun to me whereas Resident evil 4, 5 and 6 are the best action games of all time! Hopefully RE7 is an action game not horror.

Thank you for conceding that RE5 and RE6 are not good resident evil games, along with every franchise installment for the last 10 years (the revelations games are also abysmal). Surely that's what a resident evil game should aspire to be? A good resident evil game!

To be honest, we don't need any more action shooter games. There are f**king tonnes of them. We need more good survival horror games, like these games used to be. Dead Space, Dead Space 2, Alien Isolation, Lone Survivor, Alan Wake (more psychological thriller), Amnesia and Outlast managed it very well. With their pedigree, Capcom should have no trouble making another good survival horror game.

I'm definitely getting the physical editions of 4 and 5 for PS4 from Amazon. Saves me from importing from the US.

I haven't bought that spin off so I wouldn't know but the combat from RE5 and RE6 are brilliant. Sure they aren't good RE games but as action games they completely destroy Uncharted.
