Having watched gameplay from e3, this game would have to be priced a lot lower to be counted as hot. I've a feeling this will be its standard price everywhere at release.

A lot of remastered games have a lower RRP price point, yet I can't recall any proper new gen games going for as little as £30 unless they a very linear experience such as indie games. You almost make it sound as if MS have suddenly grew a conscience and i suspect you, nor me are naive enough to think that. The game obviously isn't a full AAA game that we've come to expect in gaming, yet MS have said nothing about what sort of content we can expect. Like i insinuated further up, MS/LIVE tend to over price their games, so I suspect this is probably a £20 experience at best. I'm simply using every other single game as a reference point.
Consumers don't come up with the pricing policies, the companies do, so i have no idea why you're suddenly making it out to be the consumers that are at fault that we get over charged.

I know, it just came out of nowhere didn't it...I mean it's not like I was clearly replying to someone else's comment or anything was it? Very strange.

I can certainly understand your skepticism. I think people just need to try and establish their own sense of value better. I would pay £20 for battlefront and £40 for ori and the blind forest or rocket league.

I don't disagree that it would be better for variable prices but that is not the industry as it is (I am not taking the blame for all of it) and generally an RRP that low does suggest a budget title or a title short on content. I mean Battlefront should have been that price too imo. Ratchet and Clank was a remake and a film tie in so that explain is part why they would want to shift more copies quickly while the film was still in cinemas.
Don't get me wrong I am not writing it off for this but in the current industry where publishers rarely put new AAA games out at a lower price point it makes me question why, if this leads to an industry revolution where games are priced lower then I am all for it.

Why a low RRP? Worries me a little, are they not confident it will sell for more.

This mentality is the exact reason you have barebones games selling for full whack. Devs shouldn't be scared to use the full pricing scale if the game commands it. We should be able to have £30 triple (double?) A games and £25 indie games rather than just the opposite ends of the spectrum. Ratchet and clank had a £30 price tag if i recall?
I applaud this practice and hope it continues. Better for the industry for someone to buy two £30 games than one £50 game.

As strange as this may sound, I'm a little bit wary as to why this has a RRP of £29.99. It makes me think it's gonna be very short in length and is probably only worth £19.99. MS have no previous for undervaluing their new releases and considering £50 is the usual for new releases on LIVE, I can only assume this is nothing but a very pretty indie type experience a la Ori. Nothing wrong with indie games per se, I just wouldn't pay £30 for them.

Rachet and Clank's RRP was low too, I guess platformers don't sell as well as they used to? :disappointed:

Ratchet and Clank was a remake and a movie tie in, they had a smaller window when people would want it.

Not everyone's going to have 4K TVs or be interested in VR, so the XB1 slim makes sense as an alternative to the Scorpio.

Only thing I can see what is strange here is you going on about a console that's coming out in the future and PC hardware on a deal for a game.
Though you did add a very negative line about the unreleased game and it's price at the very end, so that's all right then "I guess".

strange isn't it..."buy this new slim console, it's better than the one we sold you 2years ago but nowhere near as good as the one we'll sell you next year...or get a pc instead and play all our games even better, for cheaper, with no online paywall"
Should be noted we didnt hear a price for "the most powerful console ever"...im imagining £500...
Was all pretty confusing. And does cross platform play really make new xboxone owners? If I have a gaming pc to take advantage of it why do I want an xboxone too?
As for this game...new gameplay didn't really look too hot to be honest. As deals go, decent price though I guess

Same here. I was curious on the game but it looks like a lack lusting platformer than anything.
I doubt I'd pick this up at all.

Hmm... odd to see a low RRP for this, I'd not seen anything until now to suggest that this would be anything other than a full-price/big-budget 'AAA' game.
