Amazon aren't forcing anyone to do anything....
I think the extra £4 is probably about inline with what other retailers charge for next day courier delivery is it not?

Wondering if the charging current us restricted by what the socket can handle as surley this is a 1.5amp plug (going by 18watts divided by the cars 12volt supply)?
Would this charge as fast as the mains Quick Charge ones?

seems to - used mine last week to keep the phone topped up whilst using sat nav, Bluetooth for music and full brightness on screen and it still charged from flat in 25 mins

car gigar lighter sockets are normally rated at max15a about 178w !!! many more times more that the charger will draw, remember they are designed to heat up a coil to red hot, and can run items like tyre pumps

Agreed, voted cold for non prime members, how can it be almost double the price for postage. Is it made of lead?

i have the 24w anker quick charge 3 version of this and it struggles to keep the charge in my nexus 6 at the same level when i am using satnav. I know this is a different product but i assume the lighter socket needs to be up to the job too otherwise it could be a waste of money

You'll struggle to find a car accessory socket that's not capable of providing the power required for this.

Sounds good.
The 2.1amp normal charger for my Galaxy S5 goes up about 1% every 3mins with everything running. :disappointed:

Looks like the S5 supports Quick Charge so may give it a go.

You say normally rated?
Are all of them not rated at this?
I know a lot of cars don't come with the actual cigarette lighter nowadays anyway?

Modern vehicles with accessory sockets are typically 15 Amp, old cigar lighter sockets are 30 Amp.

Ordered one; my Nexus 5 never seems to charge much when running satnav etc using my Belkin charger. Be interesting to see if this one does any better.

Amazon seem to have covered the pre-order for free delivery loophole. would be a steal if it was free delivery but good price none the less for prime/non prime members.
