postage is high and their small print says shoes may come with signs of wear. in my case that was a very visible cut in the leather. said I could return but won't be refunded postage so if I ordered another pair I would be paying postage again. would not order from them again

I returned the pair i ordered, and yes they did refund postage costs too. I still have no idea why they'd try and confuse you with such terms and conditions!

Don't be bamboozled by their (or any seller's) terms & conditions.
They do not affect your statutory rights

I bought a pair of school shoes from here lasted 1 week fell apart, took them back and was told I could have 10% off a full priced pair. I am now in the process of sending them back to customer service. I would avoid at all cost! Clarks has gone down hill, rude staff who make you feel like a crazy person for asking for a different pair (didn't even ask for a refund)
You have been warned...

they'll only refund postage costs if you contact then to cancel before the goods have been dispatched. there's contradicting statements on their terms and conditions. "If cancelled orders are erroneously delivered to you, we shall be entitled to deduct the direct costs of recovering the goods from the amount to be re-credited to you" "Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your agreement, however please note once the order has started to be processed in the warehouse, then you will have to follow our standard returns procedure. For more information visit our Delivery and Returns page" "Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your agreement with Clarks within a period of 14 calendar days. This period begins the day after you receive the goods. Please contact us as soon as possible to notify us of your cancellation request.
If your order has already been sent for picking at our distribution centre you will need to either refuse delivery or return the goods.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the product.
Goods must be returned before a refund will be processed and the product must be returned in its original condition"

Could you not cancel your order under the distance selling regulations? Check their T&C's. Usually with in 7/14 days in writing/email. If you do this they also refund your P&P I've just checked. It says you can. Something for next time maybe?
