I really want one of these for literally no reason at all other than I want one...

Just curious. I am a Pi enthusiast but have yet to invest in a zero. What are people doing with them and why didn't you go for a normal pi? Not being critical, just interested.

I turned an old monitor into an electronic picture frame. I don't need network access, mouse, keyboard etc so this is much cheaper. I'm also planning to build a camera system for taking pictures of birds on the bird feeder. Similar reasons as before and lower power means longer life when running on batteries.

I have 3, one is for always on torrenting and my other 2 are projects, one inside a nes controller and one inside a gameboy for emulation. Normal pi are just too big for this kind of project

looking at the specs i'd guess it's for jobs that are weight/size critical as it's tiny and very low power draw, but much less powerful than a proper pi

It's a fiver, it's designed to be cheap, you can always expand it with peripherals.

They're perfect for making small gaming machines in game boy cases etc due to size. however sound output is a problem

You can add it fairly easily, but it's PWM not ADC

Anyone know if you can put kodibuntu on this?

OpenELEC is possible, don't see why kodiubuntu wouldn't.

Got mine today for the same price from pihut, I bought this one to be out little money for something I am not sure I will ever use. I plan tonight to do my first install of kodi though. Or maybe retropi, but I need a bluetooth adapter. I figured for £12.50 (pi zero, essentials kit and shipping) I could not buy a few coffees and not be out anything if I dont use it.

You'll be without a few coffees though, that's something...

It's a deal site, because funnily enough, when these aren't in stock, you can buy them off me for £15/board + shipping

Its £12, three times the price of the pi in the first place, it doesn't even have a basic amp.
