They sold a batch at 9AM this morning, that batch sold out by about lunchtime.

This is a second batch that they held back to 7PM for people at school or work who couldn't order at 9PM.

Can anyone tell me if the 'essentials' kit is good value for money. I fancy a small summer project of making a retro console. Thanks.

In the long run its so much cheaper to do it yourself as you will end up replacing lots of parts, I found the kits have all cheaper parts, I got crappy wireless case wasnt best fit etc..

cost a bit more to begin with but now have a decent Retro Gaming Pii.

Think the best the B+ can handle is N64 stuff and then its not 100% although its very very good at PSone.

I don't think there are any emulators that handle n64 stuff well. Not a problem with the pi, just the software. I think gamecube is out of reach.

If you're setting up a pi with retropie then just go with the Pi 3 instead of the zero, it's so much more powerful.
It can easily play most PSX games you throw at it, N64 is a bit hit or miss though.
Anything below PSX emulates well though.
