Thanks to catkins for posting this three weeks ago at £1.99.. I bought one then and I think it's good stuff.

Reposting as the price has halved again!

"Enjoy a spotless screen with this streak-free cleaning fluid, specially formulated not to leave any kind of residue on your screen.

The antistatic formula of this cleaning fluid helps to repel dust and dirt from your screen. Safely and thoroughly clean your screen with this lint-free microfiber cloth, designed to eliminate dust, dirt and fingerprints without leaving anything behind.

This drip-free formula is easily sprayed on the screen, then wiped off. It is completely drip-free to keep your equipment safe and dry.

The formula of this cleaning fluid allows you to safely and efficiently clean your screen while protecting the environment.

This reusable microfiber cloth may be washed gently in soap and water, then air dryed. You may use it over and over again."

If your name is not Philip you can't use it.
It's for Philips TV only.
JamesSmith
4 Jun 16 12 #5
It's designed for the purpose. Damp cloth? Damped with what.. because this is primarily distilled water that doesn't contain particulates that will scratch your screen like tap water does. It also contains a very small amount of alcohol as a cleaning agent and this dries quickly in air leaving no residue. It also contains moleculor quantities of anti-static, anti-septic and fragrance.

Basically it's water, with a few drops of alcohol.. classic combo for this purpose.. and negligible quantities of anything that could do harm.

To be fair you could use this if your screen has grease stains from fingerprints, spit etc - distilled water and a very fine microfibre cloth is sufficient when the screen has only superficial marks.. So I'll use this every few months but inbetween just water.

Philips don't just throw out products like this onto the market without testing them otherwise solicitors would be having a field day!

Please don't use this stuff....

Damp clean microfibre cloth, dry clean microfibre cloth

Anything else and you risk damaging any anti reflective coating your screen may have.

back in stock

Clearly all the TV manufacturers have different instrctions some recommend tap water as it is slightly acidic, others recommend distilled water or even cleaners like this. All of them know we use products like Sheen and the coatings are made as such.

I am not a big fan of using stuff like this every day but once a month to get rid of greasy finger marks from kids seems okay. Never harmed any previous LCD/LED TV I owned in 10 years so I will continue to do so.

You probably don't need this, what's wrong with a bit of common sense and just using a cloth, these products just create more needs in our lives, surely?

Bigger bottles than I thought. Look small from the pic. Bought the last 3 in Berwick yesterday using my Nectar points (just happened to be passing) & saved 2 online in Billericay earlier in the week. So well stocked up for the next 10 years

I also noticed in their Price cuts store paper that it is on offer in there for £1.99

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. I used this after buying this amazing deal. I sprayed onto the cloth but as it was near the screen some droplets ended up on the screen and corroded (right word) the screen where they hit it. Tiny bumps / craters on the screen. Anybody else have this? Thankfully was the spare small TV. I can upload photos if someone can tell me how to

No it doesn't. Do you think I would (and the Panasonic manual instruct me to) clean my TV and leave smears... Just nonsense. Plus I can get 5 ltr of deionised water for a tiny bit more!
Question for you - if tap water left smears and scratches e.t.c. then why do hardcore car detailers use tap water to jet wash (thats a bit of pressure) their pride and joy? The answer is because it doesn't.
Tap water and microfibre cloth will clean it just as well - Have 7 & 2 yr old who don't listen to " Don't touch the TV or keep your sticky mayonnaise fingers off" and my TV is cleaned with water when needed - no risk.

Some people have asked, and having read comments elsewhere the first time around, I think the blue is a different formula that designed for specific screen coatings only.

As someone already noted, the green is great for cleaning other stuff too.. I used it on my keyboard and it feels like new again. I'd hesitate before using it on an expensive camera lens, otherwise it makes a great cleaner for tech gizmos.

I got the blue version of this stuff and I don't feel comfortable with using it on my TV or monitors. I tried it first on my less expensive TV in the house and it just left streaks on it rather than clean it. Now all I use it for is on my phone and tablet since both have glass on it.

Apparently this is SMART fluid and it knows if you're putting it on any other brand of telly. It then has a chemical reaction with the screen, much like sulphuric acid, causing it to crack, bubble and warp. Worst of all, any warranty you may still have on your telly is void. It's a well known fact.

A bottle would last a lifetime of cleaning spectacles - you'd need just the slightest dab. I barely used any cleaning my 50" plasma!!

However, if purchased for the type who regularly gets his or her glasses steamy and filthy then he or she may have to get a couple of bottles in...... It would still last a very long time though.

I bought some of this last time when it was £1.99 (and also got some for family). I used it straight away and was very impressed with it - got rid of loads of smudges, fingerprints, dogsnot, kidsnot, whatever off my TV and also cleaned up my laptops really well too. Oh, and my specs. It dries very quickly without leaving smears. The cloth is a very fine weave and seems to be of superb quality. I've ordered some more at this price as a back-up (even though you tend to use very little) and for my mates. Thanks to OP and have some more heat.

I've used the blue Philips cleaner in the past. I'm assuming this is the same stuff but just in a different colour? Anyone know?

Philips don't just throw out products like this onto the market without testing them otherwise solicitors would be having a field day!

ps they wouldnt sell the stuff for this use if it was going to wreck your tv

4 Jun 16 5 #1
Please don't use this stuff....

Damp clean microfibre cloth, dry clean microfibre cloth

Anything else and you risk damaging any anti reflective coating your screen may have.
