Was looking for a cheap microwave and i think this is better value than the standard cheap white looking microwaves.
I think this is the normal price so isnt exactly a deal, but its far cheaper than any comparable microwave.

Still not made my mind up whether to keep it or not, but if i decide i dont want it, i'll let you know.
Although i live in Somerset, miles from you, so it would have to be sent..... with delivery cost, on top of the £36.50 i paid, you're probably better looking for another deal.

Just had it delivered....... Interior dimensions of this microwave are only a few mm bigger than our 17L Cookworks microwave. Either our old MW is bigger than it should be, or this Panny MW is small for a 20L.
Deffo hasn't got 3 litres more than our old one.
Not sure if i'll keep it..... although its far better looking than our old one, has digi settings and is supposedly 100W more powerful.

yes, that's what i'd normally assume too and I wouldn't be surprised if was just that with how things are dispensible nowadays. ps I don't know how interchangeable things like the glass plate are with different microwaves as they have that little 3 triangled notch cutout on the spindle.

Not particularly realistic to compare product longevity of a decade old model to a current model as components, their quality/specification and manufacturing techniques will change over such a long period - however that may mean improvement (although in these cost concious days it is more likely to be to the detriment of longevity/quality, esp with this company who have a known history of alliances with budget manufacturers to produce entry-level products such as Panachronic Tvs via Vestel). For the record: Panny microwaves have a habit of eating their glass turntables and cracking doors, although that is typically for the convection models, of which OP is not.

and this lasted for 5yrs before it final broke, but cld do almost anything a microwave cld do as well as most things a grill or oven cld do!

Agreed! The "Genious" model lasted for 10+ years. The current one (£240 almost 5 years ago) has been a nightmare but fortunately had a 5 year guarantee. It's had 2 new inverters and is currently in for a new power supply. I don't know what we will be doing when it packs up again!

Did some checking online and while its hot for the price it 'maybe' not the best according to amazon reviews at least.
One owner says its the worst micro he has ever had since the paint peeled off, he said panasonic has terrible customer services. One owner closed there door and the glass smashed (not covered by warranty)
So watch out depending on the issue warranty may not cover some of the faults you get regardless oh and I noticed no extra insurance on the JL website too, how convenient.
..but can't complain really it works and it has lasted about 20 years

I know what you mean about intuitive controls, before I thought I'd just buy a microwave so long as it looks nice and is cheap that'll do the job; I still have it, it's a delonghi it has a grill function that doesn't seem to work and the controls aren't intuitive at all, my mum has trouble using it and whenever my sisters and other halfs turn up they ask how do you use this as it isn't that obvious.
The one before that was a cheapy plasticy one that had a turn dial that was simple and obvious

Don't think this is an inverter microwave.. Be glad to be corrected though, need a new one as our old (10+ year old Panasonic) is losing power.
Hmm, just read reviews, lots of reports of rusting/corrosion at 3 years old

Not sure if all do, but my new microwave combi does. The whole unit heats up when it's doing something for longer than 10 mins so justifiable.
Something else worth noting to people saying that Panasonic microwaves last for 10-12 years etc. They are still great machines and certainly you won't find much better, but you still get what you pay for. Panasonic isn't what it used to be (just like many other legendary brand names, e.g Hotpoint, Hoover, VAC) and there have been loads of reports of newer panny microwaves giving up after a year or so. I'm not trying to put you off, it's a damn good deal for a microwave with an inverter and if I was microwave-less I would snap this up without a second thought (although a bit on the small side for me too) but I think what I am trying to say is that if you want something to cook your Sunday lunch in or defrost a whole farm then you might be better off looking at their mid-range.
