Yeah, you could drive, get a Travelodge and a KFC for about £3 less...!
Or you could try something a bit more unusual.

I personally can't see the deal, or the point?
If it includes food (which I can't see in the link) it's still not worth it.
Driving to Edinburgh (2hrs) a hotel and a meal out would be cheaper. Cold from me.

I entirely agree , however won't vote cold as it's not a bad price if someone fancied a boat trip ' just for the hell of it ' . The A1 though is a no brainer for me

Live a little? I can't think when teaching a boat from Newcastle to Scotland would ever be described as "living the dream"
It's repositioning between cruises. A fantastic old, beautiful ship with really excellent food. Drinks not too bad. Expect a booking fee and tips on top - £20pp and £5pp. iirc. More old style cruising, no kids, no climbing walls, many hate it many love it.

What kind of food they offer.....any idea...??

You'll have the choice of either a buffet or a sit down five course meal which imo can't be beaten, much like in a very expensive hotel, plushish surroundings and table settings. Pointless going on this if you go for the buffet! And afterwards go for a westend(ish) show - we thought the entertainment was excellent, although others moaned about it. And after that go to the bar where usually there'll be a piano or guitar player and singer - really good unless your expectations are unrealistic.
It's real cruising, totally unlike a car ferry 'cruise'.

Unusual would definitely be the word people would say if you told them you went on a cruise ship from Newcastle to Edinburgh..

It's £59 pp so for £118 you only need - night in Edinburgh, 5 course meal and return petrol. Hopefully this place does food and rooms:

I'm guessing they have a cruise that ends in Newcastle and the next one starts from Edinburgh so it's a good way for them to get the vessel up and get a few quid in

Terrible deal. Just book cheap advance train or megabus. You can easily get 1st class train each way, a hotel and meals for about the same. And have two full days looking round Edinburgh.

Even better, jog there instead, costs next to nowt. Stop at Tescos on the way for a couple of value rolls and a tub of marge, and that's the weekend food sorted. A great weekend for about 68p.

It's a taster session to make you consider going on a proper longer cruise another time. I don't get why people find it so difficult to understand suggesting it's a waste of money or that you can travel by car etc etc etc. Get a grip ... people **** up money on all sorts of things. This is a good deal.

I tried to book this months ago and it was sold out so they put me on the waiting list, its well worth the money if you work out a return train from Newcastle plus your hotel in Edinburgh, five course meal, entertainment and snacks/tea/coffee almost 24 hours and the experience of a real cruise ship. Gets into edinburgh at 8am so you get a full day in Edinburgh and a train back to Newcastle for about £12 each. What is the entertainment itinerary on a megabus?
