And that's only if they are plugged into the same double socket........ :smirk:

im looking to get wifi to my allotment , my closest socket is in the garage which is less than 100 feet away from my plot... can i connect one in the house to my router and the other to my garage and connect wirelessly to the one in the garage from the allotment, does that make sense , or should i be looking at other options, thanks

Yes, these will be fine. Correction, you will need the ones with the built in wifi repeater.

No, you can't use these as they are not WiFi enabled. You need to find a similar product where the 2nd outlet can broadcast a WiFi signal; alternatively, you can use this in addition to a standalone WiFi router to connect to the 2nd outlet in your garage.
Wrong, these are hard wired adapters effectively, not wifi repeaters.

Correct, apologies. I missed the word wireless in his post. My fault for glancing at this site whilst at work.. I have given you a like to make up for it.

not "Beam forming" as not wireless..

Hot hot hot.
They really shouldn't be able to print theoretical speed on the box, but so long as you know your real world speeds are going to be more like 2-400mbps then your all good.

Ive just bought some of these to connect a PC upstairs to one downstairs and i get 1GB/s through them, will happily post a screenshot tonight when i get home from work, they are well worth the money

I am not doubting your veracity but these powerlines ALL over-exaggerate the achievable speeds. You may be getting a 1gb burst, but what are you copying from/to ? what size is your copy? what sort of files? reviewed here

Can you plug 4 of these (2 sets of 2) into the same mains ring and use them all at simultaneously? Or are they a "matched pair" as it were?

You need one connected to your router - that sends the signal over the house wiring circuit - which is then picked up at any other socket (through a second - paired adapter) to connect an item by cable.
If you want 4 near the router a switch would be much cheaper. Similarly - use a switch at the receiving end via the adapter.

Thanks. I ideally want to put one by the router, and then the other 3 at 3 different locations around the house, but if they only work in matched pairs then that won't work. If the 3 "slaves" can pair to the 1 "master", then that would work a treat, otherwise its a no go...!

You can use them as you describe you want. They all sit on the same network and share the bandwidth.

It's a shame the reviewer doesn't know the difference between writing Mb and MB. 326MB/s (2608Mb/s) is impossible with a power line kit only rated to achieve 1200Mb/s of theoretical speed.

thanks - the walls in my house appear to be lead lined and wifi signal does not travel well.... as well as the Mrs not appreciating CAT 5 cabling running round the house, this might be the best solution.
