Just so you're aware, this watch is pretty much unsupported now. No more software updates, hence the price. The processor on the watch is very dated too.

Moto 360 Positives
- very smart
- loads of stunning community made watchfaces available in the WatchMaker app, look amazing on that almost zero bezel screen Negatives
- processor is ancient, so can be laggy plus not so future proof
- battery life is terrible if you're a heavy user
- screen is never always on (even with ambient mode)
- doesn't feel like a watch to wear while doing the DIY!
Sony Smartwatch 3 Positives
- feels tough, I never feel I need to take it off to protect it
- great for sport - you can track swimming and running with it
- screen is always on and completely readable in sunlight, so great for digital info-filled watchfaces
- battery easily lasts the day without stressing Negatives
- not very 'dressy' feeling, optional stainless steel strap is virtually impossible to buy
- shaped like an Apple Watch, so prepare to answer the inevitable question....
- if you like reproduction watchfaces, they don't look great due to the large Bezel and square screen.
tl;dr: If you like bling get the Moto 360, if you value practicality and tech get the Sony SW3....

This is an insanely good deal for the 1st gen (Bear in mind this is 1ST GENERATION Moto 360), Heat!

1st gen is still a great watch. Use mine every day. You can squeeze about 2 days out of the battery if needed. Very handy for messages, emails, controlling music, recording fitness and saving reminders. And looks very nice with the metal band!

Ive had one for ages long before the 2nd edition came out and i dont know how you could get 2 days out of it ive never managed it even when new around 36 hours was the most you could hope for. Still a great watch i bought the leather strap version and have bought numerous metal straps and none have matched the case correctly even the expensive pebble one so now ive given up. I use my Sony SW3 as my everyday watch now but still like the 360 i even have 2 original LG G watches that i still wear one black and the other white and the black with a metal strap still looks nice and functions just fine so the guy who said this is unsupported i say so what if the G watches still work and they are one of the first why should this be any different, even the very latest watches only have the same processors and 512mb ram because massive powers not needed. I also have 2 martian notifiers and i have to say they are pretty good and you get 6 days battery life on one of those.

your comment is rubbish, you are hit by the marketing propaganda. This watch is perfect for what it says it does. Who cares that it doesnt get upgrades anymore? Comes with a decent price tag and the current version of software works perfectly. The CPU is good enough for what the watch does. On top of this, it is being backed up by two years warranty so any issues once so over the watch goes back to JL.

Mine worked fine with WhatsApp messaging via WiFi. The voice recognotion was rather good, but no punctuation (that I could find!), so sentence ending and commas were a problem. Otherwise very good.
The main problem (IMO) with the V1 watch was that the display dimmed after a few seconds requiring a button-press or flick of the wrist to activate. Presumably done to save battery power. I prefer the 'always visible' face of a conventional watch. I'm not sure if the V2 version is 'always on'.

The battery was terrible on launch, barely managing a day but mine will just about scrape through from morning til the next evening. I guess 36 hours might be a better figure, but that's still 2 day times worth of use.
Like you I also bought a metal strap to swap out the leather one but never really liked it so swapped back

I have and like this watch, have owned it for probably a year and a half now. I use facer with it to get a word clock so my watch face says "ten past six" in English for convenience. It's also great to be aware of incoming notifications without having to pull your phone out of your pocket, especially when travelling on foot or driving.
The LG G Watch Urbane LTE seems like the best successor but I want wireless charging :/

Great price but the problem is that watch will no longer receive updates (wont get android wear 2.0) which at somepoint means it also stop receiving app updates and many apps will no longer work due to the older OS. Still a good deal.

here's my watch, I love it. At first it was quite laggy when I was using it with my iPhone 6 and I kinda got bored of it but now I switched to an LG G5 and the watch is on the latest software it's smooth as butter, custom watch face looks amazing and the apps are very useful. My favourite one is the swing by swing golf app, gives you live yardage so no need for a Garmin golf watch! I've had a few compliments in the office at work, it looks very smart and not at all geeky.

I need this watchface right now. I'm really looking forward to picking mine up and designing some!
Looks nice, but the dial at 46mm is massive, and will look a big naff on small wrists.
Reading up on it its a good deal provided you know that there will be no AW2.0 updates due to the hardware being a bit old and slow. Plus there have been issues (bizarrely) with the case back cracking, and current issues after the Marshmallow upgrade. I note the version 2 some in two sizes so you can pick 46mm or 42mm which seems to be a sensible choice. Obviously the new watch commands a significant premium in price.
Hot - as long as you know the limitations
MISS DIVA
22 Jun 16#99
Motorola has created a sizing guide so you can actually see how big the watch will look on your wrist. I've got the 42mm Rose Gold 2nd generation and even though I love it , I wish that colour came in the 46mm as I find the 42mm a bit small for my needs (I like big screens). If Motorola brings out a 3rd generation, I will definitely get the 46mm.
I got the leather one and it's going back as I can't get it to function correctly. The screen flickers on/ off randomly. Most apps won't function. Keeps losing connection and I can't even modify the watch faces. Oh and it's getting hot enough that I had to take it off my wrist! Piece of crap.

iPhone users have an app that can be downloaded.
You will need an android device to kick off upgrade to version 1.3 then it looks like another update downloads after this; left it overnight for this. After this point Android Wear becomes aware of the iPhone Bluetooth paring process.
Ordered and have been wearing it today after getting extra links added to strap.

loving the watch and a great upgrade from my gear 1st gen. Got mine in-store in London, which was still showing them at 99quid.
Showed the chap the post and he reduced it to 79  Joy of joys!!!. Replaced the steel strap with a silicon one via amazon, but wanna get those steel connect adaptors. Waiting for my watch bumper, also via amazon to arrive....I can easily get a couple days out of mine.....I take it off and it switch it off at work and at night. All depends on your usage really. I wish all the music controls were on one page though and having to go into settings to switch the thing off is silly.....there are certainly areas where the 1st gen gear is more straight forward to use. I thought I would hate the flat tyre screen but I don't even notice it anymore. Also the watch looks lovely, such a nice device and an amazing bargain!!!
Do also check out the You of Tube for helpful reviews, hints and tips
I'm would've liked the device to have been upgraded to AW 2.0 and feel they could as I don't get any lag etc and from my device.....As a premium smart watch having to upgrade every 2 years is very poor......I've never had upgrade my Oris watch. That is one of the reasons as well as battery life why smart watches aren't as popular as they could be.....I've personally think everyone should have one.....Hope you all enjoyed the story and well done to Wales for destroying Belgium......world ranking No.2!?!?!.....My axxx! Great post and heated awhile back

Perfect
As for updates, security updates WILL continue, the only thing Moto have said is it wont get AW 2.x
Edit: gone
Thanks
here's my watch, I love it.
How do bud
how did you get the Tag screen on the watch and where did you get it from ?
Cheers
Adam
Reading up on it its a good deal provided you know that there will be no AW2.0 updates due to the hardware being a bit old and slow. Plus there have been issues (bizarrely) with the case back cracking, and current issues after the Marshmallow upgrade. I note the version 2 some in two sizes so you can pick 46mm or 42mm which seems to be a sensible choice. Obviously the new watch commands a significant premium in price.
Hot - as long as you know the limitations
The sizing guide is here

How did you go about adding the links, i actually took it JL watch section and they couldnt add the additional links saying it was very different to a normal watch!
Nice watch and out of the box was exactly the right fit for me, shame.
You will need an android device to kick off upgrade to version 1.3 then it looks like another update downloads after this; left it overnight for this. After this point Android Wear becomes aware of the iPhone Bluetooth paring process.
Ordered and have been wearing it today after getting extra links added to strap.
Tech wise this watch is v1 but this is why I bought it.
Gorilla tough glass on face.
Brushed metal finish sets it off .
Comfortable and big just like me.
I cannot seem to see that exact face where is it and did you use facer or watchmaker for it ?
Many thanks
Adam
thanks in adavance.
Update 21:36 @ 36% that will probably do me, fortunately I have a wireless charger at work for my phone which works with this too
Showed the chap the post and he reduced it to 79  Joy of joys!!!.
