Wouldn't trust my pushbike with this, let alone my motorbike. Chains should not be made of cream cheese.

Cheap but pointless

You gets what you pays for, as a very rough rule of thumb, I tend to expect to pay 10% of the value of an item on extras like this, so if your bike is only worth £50 this would be ideal.

Bolt cutters will get through that in a second.
This isn't going to protect anything :disappointed:

it is if the bike thief doesn't have bolt cutters shoved up his top..

If anyone is after a proper tough lock and chain then look at the Almax & Squire chain/lock combo.

Haven't bought mine yet as the cost is quite high, but am looking to get an Almax myself for my motorbike. Search YouTube for their test videos. Really surprising how easy it is to get through most locks, including branded 'sold secure' ones.
Personally, I would only use these unbranded ones for my wheelbarrow!

I think the most significant weakness is the lock. Sure the chain is probably cheese grade but the lock appears to be a typical Chinese disc detainer design, which means the end cap that retains the disc wafers is held in by a captive snap ring, this is easily undone with a small pry tool like a screwdriver allowing access to the innards of the lock. In this case, I'd guess that will expose the locking pawl which again a small pry tool would make short work of.
I have broken in to similar locks in seconds with nothing more than a screwdriver, this isn't worth a fiver in my opinion, especially considering that a good lock and chain will last a life time.

Lock pinning seems to be an Abloy style. Only three wafers but they're tough as balls and the picks are expensive.
But as others have said (and the price reflects), this looks like cheap tat so probably is. Chrome dipped cast iron. People hailing this as a deterrent but if everybody else uses a solid lock and you've got this doblo thing selotaped to your bike with LOCK written on it, that might advertise a weak point.

I've never seen a lock that has to tell you that it's a lock before.

just been scrutinizing the lock and metal, on close inspection it looks cheap in quality and probably weak metal. plus even though the key and locking mechanism on first glance looks like it could be half decent in fact I think it may just be a cheap imitation on being a quality cut.

highly unlikely. A deterrent at best. The main aim of motorcycle security is to make someone elses bike look like an easier target.
