I found that this deal was posted earlier, but that is marked as expired as the price was raised to £90. So I have posted this today when I saw the price on Vodafone site.

He only gave her 5" with minimum ram - I think she's probably the one looking for an upgrade
1gb/8gb.....just a waste of time, not least because it will gum up and get laggy very, very quickly.
Pay another £20 or so and get a 2gb/16gb phone. Better value in the long run.

The phones are back in stock. It looks like they have removed the facility to "keep existing sim". I could not find any means to avoid top-up. If anyone finds it please update.

I have the following apps on SD card...
LiveStream
Facebook
Messenger
Waze
Morph DigitalDudz
BBC iPlayer
BCCI
Quickofficce
ES File Explorer
BBC Weather
Profanisaurus
Device Storage
8.32GB
Total used of 36.44GB ( included my 32GB SD card )
Internal Storage 2.78GB used of 4.53GBB
SD Card 2.07GB used of 28.44GB
Whether you like my apps or not... it simply isn't true that you put on a few apps and run out of space. You must format the SD card as "internal". I got an "internal error" moving a couple of apps but deinstall/reinstall moved them to SD card.

I know some apps like Twitter don't give you the option but I honestly haven't had an issue...have you formatted the sd card?

decent phone for the money, but with half the storage taken by the OS you quickly run out of space. Tried moving apps to the sd card, but they have a tendency to move only the small core app, but all the additional data it requires to run gets left on the internal phone memory.
With the new version Moto G now available I am looking to move onto a phone with both more RAM and more internal storage.

Tried: Storage>Internal>App and there is nothing about moving it only clear data or cache :disappointed:

if it doesn't work first time, try again...it WILL move

apps that can be stored on sd will be stored there by default. unfortunately, majoirity of apps will install on your phone, there isnt any clear way of knowing where you app will install before you decide to download it.i dont have any games, most of my apps are utilities or servies and are installed on my phone. only the calculator app installed on the memeory card.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the O2 4G compatibility issue!
Get the P8 Lite over the Moto G 1gb. The 2gb on the P8 Lite is a no brainer.

Just look through the HUKD mobiles section. There are all sorts of deals for all sorts of phones, many still active.
I'd say:
1. Redmi Note 3 Pro (3gb/32gb) - Global ROM (if you're unsure about flashing)
2. Redmi 3 Pro (3gb/32gb) - Global ROM (if you're unsure about flashing)
3. P8 Lite
4. Moto G (1gb/8gb)
I really would pay the extra and go for the better spec. At least that will last you a couple of years or more.

I went from a Nexus 4 to a Moto G 4G (2nd Gen) a year and a half ago purely for the bigger screen. Marginally better than a Nexus 4 although lacking NFC IMHO. This is better but still lacking NFC if that's important. Great phones for the money and especially at this price. Nexus 4 was/is an excellent phone still although if it's on the way out this is a worthy upgrade.

I bought one of these for my girlfriend last Christmas, she can't fit many apps on it even with an sd card, I can't figure out how to move most apps without rooting it.
I need to suffer her moaning about it, I'd never buy a 8gb phone again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to.
Also this is my first comment on here, I'd say avoid it and buy something better. Something better? I don't know what, I'm just giving my opinion of this phone.

How does this compare to the Nexus 4? My mums is on its way out and I'm looking for a replacement, was looking at the 4G but I don't think she'll like the larger screen.
Are these locked to Vodafone? Can they be unlocked easily?

Won't be as good as the nexus 4. Less processor and ram. But it would be OK, and if she doesn't use too many apps etc she'd be fine with it I'd suspect.
Unlocking the motos is easy, eBay sellers for a couple of quid I'd thinkk

How did you move the apps?
I did everything and always show at least 4GB used from 4.5GB. I don't have many apps none of games installed. Nearly all my media are on my 16GB memory card

The Samsung Galaxy Ace series of phones are dire, really dire. The first one is almost unusable it's so bad. A Moto G will be better in every way.

Looks good. On my Moto E Marshmallow takes up 3GB of space, not sure if it would be exactly the same on this (rather than the 4GB mentioned). Either way it's definitely a consideration depending on your intended use.
If you're struggling to 'catch' the "Keep Existing SIM" option on a page refresh, a couple of alternative approaches for the Google Chrome browser and Mozilla FireFox browser below. They are both different approaches to disable Javascript so the the option will display. Alternatively if you're on a mobile/tablet anyway give the website a go on there first as the option will display on the mobile site.
Google Chrome Browser Method *********************************************
4. Refresh the page. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the button 'Keep your existing SIM'
5. At this point the page will look blank
6. Turn Javascript back on via the add on.
7. Replace the URL with, or navigate in a new window to: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/cart/cart.jsp You should see it added with the keep existing SIM option so no extra charge.
Mozilla FireFox Browser Method
*********************************************
In FireFox an alternative method:
1. Type 'About:Config' into the navigation bar.
2. Click the button to say you'll be careful!
3. In the Search bar type 'javascript.enabled'
4. Double click the top entry for 'javascript.enabled' to toggle the value to display as 'false'
7. On the next page you'll see a 'Keep your existing SIM' button. Click this and continue the purchase.
8. Once you've purchased your phone repeat steps 1 - 4 to turn Javascript back on.
Unlocking The Phone To Work With Non Vodafone SIM Cards
***************************************************************************************
TalkTalk SIMs work without an unlock - this makes sense as they operate on the Vodafone network. To use SIMs from other providers you'll need an unlock code, your best bet is eBay.

You'll only get about 4gb of free space as the android system uses around 4gb. Don't rely on the fact that it has an sd card, the sd card is mainly used for media like photos and video, not for apps.
I highly advise going for the 16gb 2gb ram version. I got mine for 122 off Amazon warehouse like new.

apps can be moved to SD card too, I have one and currently have an 8gb sd card and have loads of apps stored on it...I agree the RAM isn't great but decent phone...just don't put facebook on sd card, app doesn't work well on external memory

Great phone BUT....in 2016, 8gb/1gb isn't enough unless all you want the phone for us calls, Whatsapp, and a couple of Apps.
Any more than that you will struggle.

There is no mention of the generation on their web site, but the phone is enabled for 4G network so can be either 2nd or 3d generation, I am not sure.
