Mighty No. 9 is a Japanese 2D Side-scrolling Action game that takes the best elements from 8 and 16-bit classics that you know and love and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing!
You play as Beck, the 9th in a line of powerful robots, and the only one not infected by a mysterious computer virus that has caused mechanized creatures the world over to go berserk. Run, jump, blast, and transform your way through twelve stages using weapons and abilities stolen from your enemies to take down your fellow Mighty Number robots and confront the final evil that threatens the planet!
Every aspect of Mighty No. 9’s development—art, level design, music, programming, etc.—is being handled by veteran Japanese game creators with extensive experience in the genre, all the way up to and including the project’s leader, Keiji Inafune himself!

How can you knock the game if you haven't even tried it? I understand people go with the flow on here to look cool (like you're doing now) but people who have played it seem to think it is alright if you can see it as it is rather than seeing it as Mega Man.

Still haven't redeemed my key, I no longer want it.
Apparently Direct2drive couldn't cancel my pre-order as it would invalidate my other purchases.
I requested credit towards another purchase as an alternative but even that was denied :disappointed:

Hot deal but can't help but feel bad for all of the people who paid double and didn't even get working codes or the game they were promised.

...The grudge I have with this game is the fact that the 3ds version is still delayed. Typically the only console I want to play this on! My pre-order is nearly celebrating it's anniversary

Played at EGX and thought it was solid. Definitely uninspired and lacks visual polish, but it's a victim of hyperbole

Four million dollars and this is what we get? I'm sorry, but the final product is inexcusable given the budget and veteran team behind this project.
What makes platformers good even to this day, is a good level design. Mighty No. 9, sadly, has abysmal design when it comes to that; enemies and backgrounds repeat like in a 1940's cartoon, having to overuse the dash mechanic gets old really fast, unbalanced challenge with difficulty spikes at random, and underwhelming and overplayed (but thankfully skippable) story, horrible English voice acting, questionable boss mechanics, performance hiccups, poor graphics, and average to decent soundtrack.
My question to Inafune and the team of MN9 would be: What happened? Where did it all go wrong? The mismanagement this title had is insane. This is no way to treat your fans. Countless delays and overall dishonesty was disrespectful to MN9 loyals.
I backed the original kickstarter and I regret every cent that I put on Mighty No. 9. But look, the reason I am being extra hard on this is because we can't let companies like comcept keep getting away with pulling a move like this on fans. We're enthusiasts that might jump early on a specific project, but we're not zombies that you can mistreat at will and we'll just invest in your work regardless. We deserve better than this.
The game is really good. Not megaman X good but it is really good. People are just butt-hurt because it's too hard and not living up to their view of megaman. The worst part about the game is the explosion. But who **** care. The game is fun, it's hard and it's good.
It does not deserve all the trash. Will I play this game for a long time : no, it is 2 hard for me. But did I play it 5 hour straight on my first play through : Yes.

Giving it a 10 to balance those score.
