It's interesting when these people put their Lidl/Aldi shopping in Waitose/Marks And Spencer bags.
A few years ago the media said the same thing about Waitrose with the free coffee.

New Zealand lamb for export is all halal slaughter. The vast majority of their export is to middle eastern countries and live export of animals in New Zealand is illegal. You can ring your local NZ lamb selling supermarket to confirm it is halal. The advert on the lidl website has photoshopped the "New Zealand" bit has been cut out (they are giving the impression it is not from NZ and non-halal because know the natives in the UK don't like Muslims). But it is written "New Zealand" on the actual box. I know this because I bought some today.

Anyone else of the opinion that Jersey potatoes are pretty rubbish these days, compared with the flavoursome little potatoes they used to be. Bulked up with water for profit, but very little flavour.

OK, I know that there's a lot of certified slaughter houses in NZ, however, not all of them are halal, however, my point is that if it doesn't state that it is, then you can't assume that it is, hence why it's most likely been photoshopped, isn't it illegal to sell stuff labelled as something it's not?
Reminds me of someone who said that all Marks and Spencer meat and poultry was kosher, even though it was never labelled as such...

You have missed the point. New Zealand lamb for export is ALL halal. No label required. New Zealand keeps a small set of separate non-halal slaughter for its own home market. You don't think that New Zealanders are going to feed their own people Halal meat do you?? Halal is for the foreigners only whether you are Saudi or British. Check with Lidl if you want. I have had this conversation may time with people like you. When they contact the supermarket in question selling the NZ meat, they find out it is halal. BTW, there is no supermarket that sells kosher- only specialist Kosher shops.

You need to get your facts straight, not all the red meat exported from NZ is halal.
FYI, halal or not, it is of no relevance to me, I was just clearing up your misconceptions.

There is no exported lamb from New Zealand that is non-halal. I do not know about other red meats- only NZ lamb. Muslims tend to only eat lamb/mutton, chicken, sometimes goat. . That is a fact that you check out with any supermarket that sells NZ lamb. Admittedly, I do not know about kosher meat. I do not know any high street supermarket that sells Kosher meat- but I may be wrong.
