Not going to comment on hotness - But to claim this is a compact version of the G4 is a flat out lie. Not one spec is even comparable. Unlike the Sony Xperia Zx Compacts which are almost identical to their bigger flagship cousins, this is a cheap phone is a case that looks a bit like the G4.

Not so solid network, so the unlocking tip is advised.

I've had one of these for a bit under a year. I paid ~ £82 from Amazon. My daughter has a 3rd generation Moto G. This one has a better camera than the Moto G.
I like the size of this. It has good battery life (a couple of days), and is fast enough for the things I need to use it for (email, satnav, browsing rather than any gaming). It came with KitKat, but there is an upgrade to Lollipop. You can replace the battery and it takes a micro SD card.
Downsides are that sometimes when I try to answer a call, I can drag the icon, but it doesn't pick up the call, so I need to call back. It also has the power/volume buttons in the middle of the back. I would rather have them on the side.

Type android phone into Amazon and you'll get a lot of Chinese brand phones.
Spec to rival the latest handsets but at a fraction of the cost.
Obviously you are taking a small gamble on them being Chinese brands, but then most of the big brands are actually manufactured in China anyway.
I would, however recommend only buying those stocked by Amazon themselves. Ordering one direct from China takes an age for delivery and returns/refunds are a nightmare!
I've recently bought two different handsets from them and both seem very, very good so far.

The Leon is only £50 from the same site. Picked one up for running/cycling.
Has NFC, compass, isn't stupidly big and out of the box it asks to update to Marshmallow.

Thanks, by the look of it the out of stock Vodafone Moto G 3rd at £79 is way the cheapest around if / when it comes back in stock
