Note: This is a pre order! Supposedly shipping after June 20th!

Just received mine and I paid £130 for mine from Aliexpress. Pretty happy with the phone as it's one of the most compact 5.5" phones (although it's a bit thick at 9.5mm)

This phone has dimensions of 147.9 x 73.5 x 9.5 mm which means a screen to body ratio of a massive 76.6%! The black borders look a bit ugly though - Shame they don't make a black version of this phone.

Specs:
CPU: Snapdragon 810 Octacore
RAM: 4GB LPDDR4
Storage: 64GB eMMC 5.0
Camera: 13MP Sony IMX214 f2.0 back with OIS, 4MP f2.0 front
UI: eUI Android 5.0
Screen: 5.5" 2560x1440 resolution = 538 PPI
SIM: Dual SIM Nano + Micro
4G support: Three, EE, Vodafone (No O2 4G support!)
Others: USB Type-C connector, MHL, Custom DAC
Bluetooth: 4.1 + Apt-X
Battery: 3000mAh

That's a lot of spec for the money!

Use code: 20$offletv at checkout to get the advertised price.

Order subtotal:£140.09
Shipping Fee:£0.00
Coupon Discount:£17.52
Grand Total: £122.57

- Patchy 4G coverage in UK. - no 800 mhz band.

From what I've tested, the camera on the back is really good, typical of an IMX214 sensor. (Perfect in daylight and decent in low light). The front camera however is average and my Xiaomi Mi4 and XIaomi Mi Note has a better front camera.

I took the phone for a "test run" today outside. A few comments:

The Good:
- Size. For a 5.5" phone this is pretty compact. It's amazing how much difference a few mm to the height and width makes to holding it. My Xiaomi Mi Note (5.7") feels much thinner and looks nicer but isn't as easy to hold.
- Build quality. It's been a while since I've had an all metal phone again (I went from HTC One (drop and broke) to Xiaomi Mi3 to Xiaomi Mi4 to HTC One M8 to Meizu MX4 to Xiaomi Mi Note in the last few years) and I've got to say the build quality is up there with the rest. This is easily comparable to the HTC One series in terms of build quality. Just doing a bend test and there is no way I will be bending this.
- Screen. Whilst not as saturated as AMOLED displays, the 2560x1440 resolution makes things look super sharp.
- Performance. With a Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM, performance is top notch, even today.
- Updates. Looks like they've been releasing updates every month or so and looking at the patch notes and reviews it seems like they do address real issues like the WiFi, battery life and GPS etc unlike MIUI which just pumps out crap weekly and removes features I actually use and enjoy. (I loved MIUI 7 on Android 4.4 but MIUI 7 on Android 6.0 was just sh*te, my battery life went to crap and RAM usage went up for no noticeable beneficial reasons. I still rate KitKat as the best Android update so far and rate LL and MM as utter crap)
- Back camera. The dated IMX214 is an oldie but a goodie. Super fast shutter in daylight and OIS seems to work well.
- USB Type-C connector. I won't lie, I have loved Apple's lightning connector since forever but this is even better!
- Price. There is no other phone that will provide the build quality, let alone the specs for this price.
- WiFi. Not sure why people are talking about issues with WiFi. I can connect to my home WiFi completely fine and get "normal" WiFi speeds as well as public WiFi.
- GPS. No issues picking up my location quickly and accurately.
- 64GB Storage. Look at how much Apple charge for 64GB and that says it all really.
- Audio. Not much better than my Xiaomi Mi Note but my Xiaomi Mi Note did have amazing audio output in the first place so it only highlights how good the idea here is.
- Touchscreen. It's probably rare to say a touchscreen is good nowadays but it just seems really accurate (typing and gaming) and also whilst laying down flat and charging etc there are no issues (some phones have problems with that)

The Average:
- OS. EUI looks pretty nice and polished (do prefer MIUI and iOS overall but EUI easily looks better than stock Android and Cyanogen although it loses in features) but it's a massive resource hog. Doing a reboot leaves my Le1 Pro with around 2.5/4GB RAM with no background apps!
- Front Camera. Average results, selfie snappers should avoid.
- Video Recording. OIS works really well but unfortunately both 1080p and 4K video recording leave a lot of detail out in videos. Quite usable in good lighting but otherwise quite grainy with noise.
- Rooting looks like it'll be quite a hard process.
- There are no other official updates for this specific phone apart from the stock one thus far but I expect there to be one coming soon as it looks like they are planning to sell this phone internationally now.

The Poor:
- Battery. I did a bit of gaming, video watching, web browsing, whatsapping and light photoshooting (you can say a shortish day out) and my battery dropped from 100% to 25% which was only 2h17m screen on time.
- Bluetooth. Not sure why but it struggles to pair properly with my Mi Band 1S. It picks up steps fine but it can't send notifications or use the Smart Unlock feature. Weird that it's "paired halfway". Never had any issues using my Mi Band 1S on any of my other phones. Also watching YouTube videos without my bluetooth earphones paired is fine but as soon as I pair them, it crashes.
- Bugs. WiFi Hotspot does not seem to work although it does give off a WiFi connection and the child device connects fine but has no internet. I cannot sign into the London Underground WiFi either even though it connects fine but the login page doesn't load...

The I Wish It Had:
- NFC. This is becoming more and more used and would have been nice to have.
- MicroSD. 64GB is enough for someone like me but it's nice to have MicroSD support.
- Fingerprint scanner. Nice to have for people that are too lazy to type in a 4 digit pin like me.

Let me know if there are other things you want me to test as I've just scored a Samsung S6 Edge Plus for £315 off eBay and used my 10% code to grab it for £283.50 so I will most likely sell off this phone soon. I'm sure the Samsung isn't over twice as better as this Le1 Pro but I just got a pay rise today so I decided I could splash out a bit and that's a good price anyway for the S6 Edge+. I'm just hoping they've improved TouchWiz so that it's usable.

This is still a really good phone and excellent VFM but I don't want to wait for more updates to fix the issues that I would like to work (bluetooth, hotspot, London Underground WiFi).

I haven't had any GPS or WiFi issues. Connects to my wireless ac router fine on 5Ghz and in terms of picking up location and speed/ping wise it's no different to my Xiaomi Mi Note that this is replacing.

Only negative thing I have noticed is that battery life seems very average and that the 2k panel, whilst sharp, is a bit "boring" compared to AMOLED screens. Supposedly it's also a Sharp screen with 1300:1 contrast which is pretty similar to my Xiaomi Mi Note's screen but the Xiaomi Mi Note's screen seems so much more saturated and richer.

Update: I took my phone for a "field day" today and here are my results which I copied from post #38:

From what I've tested, the camera on the back is really good, typical of an IMX214 sensor. (Perfect in daylight and decent in low light). The front camera however is average and my Xiaomi Mi4 and XIaomi Mi Note has a better front camera.

Ouch sounds like a painful journey. I'm just using the 11S Cuoco version V43 (I installed V41 and then V42 and V43 were OTA updates). I have double tap to wake now and WiFi and GPS are still superb - no issues there. Battery life still seems very average though ranging from anywhere between 3 hours to 4.5 hours before the battery is drained. I've returned to using my Xiaomi Mi Note for now as the LeTV doesn't do what I need it to do - sign in onto London Underground's WiFi on my commute (it can connect and browse all the information like news etc but I just can't sign in to use the WiFi fully oddly enough) plus the front selfie camera doesn't work now with Cuoco's 11S update. Support for my Xiaomi Mi Band/smart unlock is still screwed up too. Probs best just to keep using the stock 11S update until they release an official 13S/14S update for the US version. Not sure how long that'll be though.

I'll probably be going to the OnePlus 3 launch event on Wednesday as the seller cancelled my £284.50 order for a Samsung S6 Edge Plus - should have known it'd be too good to be true. Depending on the price RAM and storage of the OnePlus 3 I'll probably be going for that as it looks quite similar to this LeTV and hopefully won't have any real issues. The only thing I'll probably miss is the 2K screen, 64GB storage and audio quality. I'm hoping that the OnePlus 3 is £249 for the 64GB storage model with 4GB RAM. Perhaps if it's £249 for 32GB/3GB and £279 for 64GB/4GB I'll stretch a bit.

That's because the official one is only supported on the CN (china) version of the phone. The phone that I received is the US (international) version of the phone which you can easily check by looking at the back of the phone and seeing if it says CE0560 - if it does then that means it's t he US version and installing the official CN ROMs will not work.

EDIT: Tried to update to the 11S version but got stuck on bootloop (I imagine it didn't like going from 13S to 11S), had to follow steps 2 till 5 again and add an extra step by typing fastboot flash misc misc.img, then restored my backup from step 7 and finally flashed the 11S rom for step 8 instead of the 13S one.

Okay just did some experimenting. I managed to put Cuoco92's 13S ROM on but unfortunately there's not much improvement on the issues I had at least.

Here are the steps I took anyway:
1. Downloaded Le1Pro_US_CUOCO92_TOOLS_v2
2. Connected phone to PC via fastboot (turned it off then held down vol down + pwr and then let go of pwr after I saw the penguin then continued to hold for around 30s)
3. Opened Shell.exe
4. Typed fastboot oem unlock
5. Typed fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6. Went back to LeEco Recovery by holding vol up + pwr
7. Backup up the system within TWRP
8. Flashed Le1PRO_US_X800-ROW-v3.0-CUOCO92-5.5.0013S.zip

From: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=57601

Pros:
- ROM comes with supersu (meaning root)
- Managed to uninstall YouTube and reinstall the latest YouTube meaning bluetooth works fine with it now
- I also have double tap to wake now

Cons:
- Data does not work anymore (which means the phone is useless for me as I don't have WiFi everywhere)
- Bluetooth smart unlock still does not work
- Video recording does not work
- YouTube only allows a max res of 360p (useless on a 2k screen haha)

Overall that update is rather useless if I can no longer receive data. I heard battery life is the best on the 13S update but to me it's not worth testing on.

I will try the new 11S update and see if that is any better tomorrow as it seems to be more up to date than the 13S one oddly enough.

I agree there but at least there's a workaround.

My YouTube version is 5.7.41. No earphones plugged in and things play fine but as soon as I connect my earphones via bluetooth and I try to play a video it will crash.

The current batch of new phones from the lesser known manufacturers seem specced to a price, decent 5.5" phones with dual sim, an SD card and a battery capable of 2 days are become less common - seems the battle at the tech leading edge is very cost focussed.

The only official LeTV support is in Chinese. There have been 5 updates since the beginning of the year ('E' denotes an experimental or beta version and 'S' stands for stable version:
http://bbs.le.com/zt/eui/le_pro1.html

The international ROMs installed by vendors are unofficial, modded versions of the above. These install the Google Play store, international keyboards, etc and remove the Chinese crapware including links to LeTV media. These ROMs have been modded by unofficial Android developers, who then sell their work to international mobile phone retailers to install. There may also be embedded spyware/adware.

1. No mention of customs
2. No alternate shipping to avoid customs
3. 3 days return policy

Oh the item is still in stock( in Silver any way) and the voucher works

The 820 is getting killed on battery life.
The Exynos is giving up 6-7 hrs sot
The X620 is giving up 8-9 hrs sot
The SD 820 is still doing the rounds at 4-5 hrs sot
The Le Eco 2 can he had for very little more with FP scanner, the same or better perfomance, better battery life. Whilst the Pro 1 has Qhd,OIS and more storage. Absolute bargains at this price.

No, it isn't more compact

LG G3 is 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm
LeEco LE1 is 147.9 x 73.5 x 9.5mm

Which means it is very slightly narrower than the LG, but is also longer, so basically is a bigger phone

It's also 0.6mm thicker too, so all round bigger I'm afraid

Looks like it, can't find a Android 6 update for it anywhere

The Xiaomi Note if you don't really want to pay more: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/xiaomi-redmi-note-3-pro-international-rom-3gb-32gb-version-snapdrogon-650-4k-mah-2459056

A step down in terms of specs but comes with a microSD slot.

So the internal memory is only 64gb and no external memory slot, if so then I'm out, currently using 128 microSD mostly for music for HTC m8! Can you recommend another similar specs handset with external memory up to 128gb? Thanks

Yeah I read about those which is why it was one of the first things I checked. I'm guessing it's rather dependent on the ROM. I am having issues with my Mi Band though, it doesn't seem to want to use it to smart unlock, rather annoying as I'm so used to it. I've tried unpairing and repairing it, uninstalling the Mi Fit app and turning off bluetooth and turning it back on but no use. :disappointed:

Also the ROM that is on my one (EUI 5.5.011S stable) seems to be some unofficial one as I can't even look for updates. Saw that there was a 5.5.013 from LeTV themselves so wanted to try it but trying to upgrade always says corrupted file or something. (I've tried downloading it direct to my PC and direct to phone and the same thing happens to both...)

I guess I should just stick with the 011S firmware for now as I don't have any real issues with it other than wanting more battery life and the smart unlock. I also heard the 13 firmware has double tap to wake too and I would have liked that.

I hope this helps people decide if they should go for this phone or not.
