It's £240 for a not too bad spec..... the build quality will be crap, pretty much any laptop under £400 is crappily built, yes the screen won't be great, again it's cheap, the CPU will be crap compared to a desktop i3 equivalent.
There's a reason laptops used to be better built, they cost at least twice the price, same reason why a refurbished IBM business laptop is better built, it originally cost much more than this.
You have to set your expectations accordingly, this is incredibly cheap for a semi decent specification but something has to give and that's all the above can be found 'wrong' with this sort of product.
As for the SSHD comments, ollie87 explains all..... it's such a shame people probably vote this cold due to their lack of understanding of the product.

That's not has it works either!
Hybrid drives move the content that is used most often to the SSD portion. It isn't necessarily the operating system.

Good laprop for light use such as Internet, Youtube, Word, Excel in a home environment. Not a gaming machine nor heavy media.
A pretty rubbish processor
1366x768 resolution
An SSD so small that you can't even put an OS on it
Honestly for another 50 quid, or if you're willing to buy a refurb, you can get much, much, much better specs. This ain't great value for money imo

How does the SSD bit work?
Is it separate so you can install an OS on it? Must take a lot of management to keep your Windows folder under 8GB - mine is currently 14GB...

As far as I am aware you can't store anything in it, but I had a similar laptop with 8gb sshd and it used to boot like a laptop with ssd purely so it is wuite good. It's literally here to speed things up.

Only the files required to boot into the OS are saved on the SSD.

Yes. Its (500GB HDD + 8GBSSD) SSHD as opposed to 500GB HDD + (8GB SSHD)
