They're taking the kids channels out of the Entertainment one and starting a new Kids pack, just a heads-up if you wanted to get this for the kids channels.

yes 100%, it's what we have been doing since last year  bbc iplayer, itv, 4OD are the main ones I use......
Not tried Now TV...... Would this allow me to watch 4 months worth of Formula1 GP live as if it was on Sky, or is it just for films?

Oh, and thanks OP, picked up 2 today in Stafford. A colleague broke her foot the other week so I'm going to give her one of the boxes and connect it to my plex server to keep her occupied.

What broadcast TV do you watch that's better resolution then....?
SkyHD/Virgin and Freeview HD are all still only 1080i which you'll likely see as no better quality than the 720 progressive output of the NowTv box

12 Jun 16#61
Misleading saying "Latest NOW TV box" As there is a new NowTV box being released at the end of this month.
This will also be why these ones are being sold off so cheap. The same thing happened this time last year with the v1 white boxes to get rid of left over stock.

Deliberate locked Poor resolution at 720p. Going back to ancient times when TV had poor picture quality.

Good deal. No Home Delivery option available for me though, and it says my nearest store is out of stock and the next nearest store I can Click and Collect is 30 miles away... so I won't be getting this.

Thanks so much for the heads up. It prompted me to Google for more info. The Now TV Kids Pass will be launched on the 21st June 2016, so not long to go now
laneysmum
12 Jun 161#55
well Now TV box is 1080p capable but the Now TV services only stream at 720p. If the resolution is a consideration for you, then a Sky subscription would be a more expensive but better fit for you. Don't know much about EE so can't comment on that. Also Now TV isn't really for News channels. Sports yes, but consider the resolution of the broadcast and see if that's an issue for you.
laneysmum
12 Jun 16#54
Good deal but I wish Now TV would broadcast in 1080p rather than 720p. They made this box 1080p capable but still only broadcast at 720p.

I've got the latest release on a black box. It's a pretty dated interface and nowhere near as slick as the later versions on android. Not unresponsive as such but very clunky

Nationwide visa rewards currently offering 4% cashback for their customers. Can stack with other cashback.
I've started giving the boxes away now as I've two black ones and a white one in the cupboard (and I watch on my chromecast). Even with the 60% off deals I keep getting to come back to sky this deal is far cheaper. If you can manage without a sky box and have decent broadband this is the way to go.

I don't find it unresponsive at all, and some of my clients are still on white boxes! What version are you on, looks like a release came out in April:
Pretty poor for plex now tbh. Only classic works and it's a clunky, unresponsive experience. Plex on fire stick is much better

Shame that you can only sideload one app at a time. Really need a couple of boxes for the kids room but they need Plex for streamed media and TVPlayer for Live TV.

Makes you feel not to bother to buy 1 of the 2 Months Movie Passes Boxes at the end of it really?, as 1 x 4 Months Movie Passes Boxes literally works are far cheaper per 1, than the former does?, which is a crying shame really?, as they're obvioulsy not £10 each, as their 3 Months Entertainment Passes Boxes per 1 are ..... eg. only £20 for 2 lots?, or rather £25 for only 1 lot instead? I've seen a few stuck on ebay, but people put the starting price at £4.99 and other prices that don't attract bidders (I would always start at 99p max, plus a sensible postage price).....People may not buy them on ebay when great deals like this one become available?

Hi - as long as you have internet at home, the Now TV option is great in terms of avoiding the need for a contract (Sky is usually 12 months)....you can "dip in/out" with Now TV (which is why I like it).

These are good prices. I got the 6-month Entertainment pass with a black box around Christmas when Tesco was doing a deal on it. My pass is due to expire on 27th June, so will cancel it and then go and get the deal above as it says that the monthly subscription for Entertainment will be £6.99. My daughter also won a 2-month Movie pass with the recent MacDonalds Monopoly promotion and I have just cancelled that one as it is due to start again tomorrow at a cost of £9.99 a month, so the 4-month movie deal above is also a good deal.
