Looked at the tyres up close in the pictures, they certainly look like rubber and not plastic.

I bought this in the January sale at halfords for £79 and can confirm the tyres are rubber and not the noisy cheap plastic mould ones. It's a great kart, my 6 year old loves it. I have been on the lookout for another one in the sales for my 4 year old and would have had no hesitation in paying the £99 for this if it was a different colour (didn't want two the same) so I decided to take a chance on the orange Downforce go kart that is also on sale in halfords, reduced from £119 to £59. Both karts are very similar, almost identical in fact. I think that the cheaper Downforce actually has better wheels and was a lot easier to put together because it's already about 75% ready in the box.

Thanks for this info - I'll have a look at the downforce kart online. Does it also have rubber tyres?
The Torino & Sao Paulo are similar dimensions and recommended for ages 4 - 8 years, whereas the Melbourne is smaller & recommended for 3 - 5 years.
I wouldn't have paid full price for this one in Halfords, although I think it's more reasonable now. I would have preferred to get one with air tyres like your one, but they just cost so much more... I have been looking for a couple of weeks now, and this seems to be the best deal I've found so far

Would have liked rubber tyres. Looks great though.

Bought one of these for my son christmas before last at this price. Brilliant fun but beware of poor build quality - my boys came with a buckled chainwheel which causes the chain to come off often. Inspect the contents of the box if possible before you take it away.
Agree with the comments above about the plastic wheels too. Go for one with proper rubber tyres if you can or the noise will drive you or your neighbours daft. We got the Hurricane a while ago from Amazon for about £125, but it's showing at £169 just now unfortunately.

It's definitely a deal price when compared to the rrp, but moulded plastic wheels...how was this ever worth £200?

No way it was worth £199.
