When was Britain ever great though? Was it when the Christians were on their crusades fcking up other countries? Or was it when we had an Empire and forced our societal values on others, or was it when we were part of the slave trade?

What does "We have our country back" actually mean though? My assumption is most people saying it mean we can set our own laws, control our own borders and have less interference from Brussels. But really, we already set our own laws and based on what several leave MPs have been saying this week we won't control our own borders as we're going to have to accept free movement if we want single market access (which we really, REALLY do). As for Brussell's interference, compared to most other EU countries they meddled very little in our affairs. Sure, The Sun, The Mirror etc.. drum up anger towards the European Court of Human rights, but really there's maybe one questionable case every other week or so that causes outrage.
I'm not trying to be a smart a**e or sarcastic here, I genuinely want to hear what people mean by saying "We have our country back".

Well, I'm not. Voted remain but no point moping. I imagine quite alot of leave voters might be throwing tantrums of a slightly violent nature when they realize that immigration likely isn't going to go down because of Brexit. Several Conservative leave MPs' have already said since Friday to not expect any significant decrease in immigration numbers.
In fact, Nigel Farage is the only person insisting we'll "take back our borders". Of course, he's not actually an MP, so he doesn't really have too much of a say....

Time to say goodbye to Euro and welcome to Copa America
Same goes for Wales, they haven't been in a major tournament for 58 years. I can't see them beating Belgium, but whilst they're still in it, there's a chance. One things for sure, they'll actually try and give it a go, rather than running around like headless chickens and just standing still and doing useless passes. Hodgson is the main one to blame, but Wayne Rooney was on the field, he's the captain, it seems he needed to tell the players to actually go tackle the Iceland players and close them down, but he obviously didn't. I would have thought it's a basic thing, anyway the nerves got to them it seems, it was a total disaster.

They won the 1966 World Cup. Also there's plenty of big countries that have national pride and a well performing football team. Did you see Italy yesterday?
One look at the England players at the end of that match should tell you they desperately wanted to do well, they just couldn't do it for whatever reason (pressure, tiredness, fear of failure, fear of critcism, not being good enough etc).
