depends what ur going to do with the pc the most . i7 is more for editing video photo encoding stuff like that .

How long do you expect/need useful life? I have a Bloomfield system that has run nearly 8 years at 1.35v since the day it has turned on. That's >200w. And my it's had a hammering of use. The platform is basically obsolete but the system just keeps on breathing. Still gives many AMD parts a bloody nose on gaming benchmarks to this day too in its overclocked state....

An i5 6600k with a decent cooler and modest overclock will be good for at least 4-5 years for most games I would say, especially if you change the graphics card at least once. i5 2500k came out in 2011 pretty much the equivalent to the 6600k, and it's only really starting to age a bit now.
Even so it's still a very capable CPU and not junk, especially overclocked! With the right memory and OC, it goes toe to toe with this brand new 6500.
You're confirming what Tom's hardware said in their article, I5 6600k should be fine for my gaming needs. I don't really use my pc for anything else. I still have my AMD X4 960 with 4gb ram but recently some games made it crash and burn mainly due to the lack of ram. Battleborn needs 6gb minimum for instance...

Via flubit the i5 6600k came up as £179 for me. Not the cheapest but it's acceptable. Although I am still in a huge dilema whether to go for tie i7 6700k or the i5 6600k. Diminishing returns...

Most of these processors are pretty great though, just this 6500 makes it one of the very fastest consumer CPUs around.
I have an i7 6700k and justified it by knowing I'll keep it for several years, but I would hardly be upset if I had a 6600k and overclocked it. Very very fast CPU and will be good for many many years.
If you are willing to overclock and accept those risks, then the 6600k is probably the best choice for the high end in terms of bang per buck. The i7 6700k is just for the greedy people :stuck_out_tongue:

35+ £ more with this reduced price , which I think it quite good for somebody like me who want to cut on most parts so I can focus on video card or something like that .

Where's the i5 6600k for £20 more? Most sites are around £200. If not going to overclock the 6500 seems better value than 6600.
