Wake up! We lost to Iceland not italy!
Sterling. Awful. Wilshire. Awful. Kane. Awful.
Lacking the desire and tactics of a top team. Absolute lack of movement up front.
And... At least spell Brendan Rodgers right! It's people like you that made us leave the EU
Edit: and let's take nothing away from Iceland! Got the job done and deservedly through!

Not sure why people we're so happy to get behind such a defensive team, the likes of which made Euro 2016 such a mediocre tournament. I think some people just want England to fail, the types before the tournament who say "just you wait they'll be home next week" or some other negative spew.
Well congratulations England were awful so you get to slate them and support a team who are the flavour of the month. I'll wait for the day England come good. It might not be 2018 maybe not even 2022 but one day they'll have a great tournament and I'll celebrate it knowing I didn't turn my back when we we're at our lowest ebb.

Unfortunately we still think we are a good team as we won all the qualifiers. We need a manager that can blend the players into a team that aren't terrified of losing. If that means dropping some of the big stars then so be it, but everyone complains about them being millionaires which is total rubbish and just jealousy. Look at the Italian team or the German team, they are probably millionaires as well and they don't seem to have a problem.

Roy Hodgsons England wouldn't beat Poundland, let alone Iceland. The bloke was in charge for 4 years and still didn't know his best 11. We've been knocked out of the Euro's by a big fishing village. Utterly shameful. Good price on the flag btw

Success is the inverse of How much you psy your manager. Roy got £4m per year. Iceland's is a part time dentist. that fir me says it all. given what they abd players earn pet year. as recompense for an obysmal performance they should all donate their appearance fees to charity.

In 13-14 it was £41+ billion in free cash in Child Benefit and CTC, circa £45+ billion this financial year even with changes thats half of he DWP OAP pensions for the current year, add in Generation 1 CTC now getting jobseekers, council tax and housing payments for all them ontop - the UK borrows the cash to cover child tax credits every year, thus a large part why we are due trillions in debt out.
The deficit will NEVER be paid off whilst CTC exist, it is going up billions every financial year as is the cost of passported benefits, but like a leave vote with £10 billion going to the NHS (cough) dont expect the Tories to tell you such nor Labour, why? securing the long term debt downwards means standing up for a vote leaver out of office - removing tax credits.
Maternity in the NHS has been crumbling since tax credits, each move forward with less CTC restrictions has affected the NHS as a whole. Moving from 16 hours work a week (which was not sustainable as no tax receipts) to jobseekers = more for nothing and keep jobseekers at £300 a month, they could not even remove a % deduction to pay down debt ?
Until tax credits are stopped and that money goes back into NHS, Education and local authority housing builds, the breeding of paid children continues that adds more pressure to them with more cuts, all long term to fund a surplus of teen jobseekers who need benefits to live as the job seeking market is over saturated and keep wages lower.
England can carry on like this for all I care, they voted for it, and 55+ million people are now all turning on each other because they all think they are in poverty. You are, that deficit needs paid off NOT continued!
The banking crisis just brought forward the inevitable a few years earlier.

Noel Gallagher summed it up best:
“Do I think we should leave? I don't think we should be given a vote.
“I see politicians on TV every night telling us that this is a f****** momentous decision that could f****** change Britain forever and blah, blah, blah.
“It's like, okay, why don't you f****** do what we pay you to do which is run the f****** country and make your f****** mind up?”
Gallagher added: “What are you asking the people for? 99 per cent of the people are thick as pig s***.”
He might have gone a little heavy with his percentages but the rhetoric is otherwise sound.

Erm... you do know N.I and Scotland voted remain, being the underdog per se we know compassion because for a long time UK parliament showed us none
SNP heartland is ex Labour and has the biggest population of asians, Glasgow, I also at high school was surrounded by asians, have a large influx of Polish around, but I know politicians dont own countries on the planet - collectively all humans do so where does it matter where you come from if you are contributing to society where you live.
People are **** there is no money for services and voting out and blaming the EU, you dont see them handing back two thirds of their child tax credits or blaming either main party for a 'benefit' the UK could never afford. In ten years it is estimated child benefit and child tax credit ALONE will cost £70 billion a year for 70 million people - thats 1 billion pounds per head of population before HMRC staffing costs and passported benefits such as council and housing benefit.
Labour and Tories have wreaked the UK, Scotland is fortunate enough to have a third (and main party) which offers a little different from the status quo, the Labour and Tory party leader crisis is just the tip of the iceberg of how in 50 years they have lost the plot, and Lib Dems made a gigantic mistake of pillow talk with one of them or they could be Englands SNP.
The EU £10 billion is nothing compared to government staffing costs and pensions, CTC and Pensions. But who lay the facts on the table ? Neither in or out.

Iceland deserved their win but im still gutted tbh. I had high hopes for the youngsters going into the Euro's but i always had doubts. Everyone knew the defense would be a liability and so it proved. The 2 quick goals just left them visibly shell-shocked for the rest of the game and you could see in their faces the lack of belief that they could find a way to win.
They needed a leader out there- a Terry, Gerrard or a Beckham. Think the players were looking to Rooney, but he was having an absolutely shocker of a game. Oh well..... not long to go till the premier league starts again! :innocent:

I think we should be able to play them again as the result was clearly a huge mistake.
In retrospect choosing a manager who played everyone out of position was a stupid idea and next time we could just get Wayne Rooney to pick the team.. Or maybe Glenn Hoddle who seemed to have some good ideas?

I find it quite incredible that England has an excellent rugby side (and a pretty good cricket team) that has just completed a 3-0 series win against Australia away, and gets no coverage on the BBC. The soccer team, which appears to be very poor indeed (but it would appear is grossly overpaid) seems to be on my screen every time I mistakenly switch to BBC or ITV (which also seems to be showing an Estonia vs. Lidl soccer match).
As you can probably tell (if you have read this far) I have no interest whatsoever in soccer, and perhaps the constant, irritating coverage on TV will now fizzle out.
Let's hope Wimbledon is better and that nice Mr.Murray wins again.
Good fortune to Iceland (I must admit I didn't even know it had a professional soccer team until I read the paper this morn), it would be quite funny (to non-soccer types) if that small county went on to win the tournament (perhaps playing Liechtenstein in the final).

I don't think that anyone in the England team gives a tinker's about what anything anyone thinks about them. To them it's just a job. Just a bad day but they will come home, count their millions, and have a good laugh at those who support them. They aren't interested in playing for their country, and they certainly don't give a damn about the fans. It's all about the ££££££££££££££££££££££s. It might be different if they had money taken away from them every time they lost. Nothing encourages enthusiasm more than having something taken away from you in the event of failure.

No offence I'm 29 and I play better football 3 times a week on a 7 a side for 2-3 hours constant and I can handle the running and not getting tired quick. I would have made more difference than these so called Rooney, Sterling, Porridge etc.

Well congratulations England were awful so you get to slate them and support a team who are the flavour of the month. I'll wait for the day England come good.

Let's all get being our boys at the Tour de France
What was on it before?
“Do I think we should leave? I don't think we should be given a vote.
“I see politicians on TV every night telling us that this is a f****** momentous decision that could f****** change Britain forever and blah, blah, blah.
“It's like, okay, why don't you f****** do what we pay you to do which is run the f****** country and make your f****** mind up?”
Gallagher added: “What are you asking the people for? 99 per cent of the people are thick as pig s***.”
He might have gone a little heavy with his percentages but the rhetoric is otherwise sound.
Heat added.
For once, I didn't have to hang my head in shame....which is nice.:sunglasses:
40 people apparently are just as clueless as you.

The blame IS Roy's but the players were a disgrace from rubber fingers Hart to clueless brainless defenders to dismal midfield to toothless attack. Sterling shouldn't get another chance to humiliate himself and the England shirt
But Iceland deserve every ounce of praise. I'll be rooting for them against France. Problem is, they're not as clueless as our bunch
