Up, slowly, which is in line with the usual pattern. There's often significant fluctuation and sometimes falls in the average in the first few hours, but after that it's typically a case of a steady rise.

While people are certainly free to do so, almost invariably the majority of any codes posted in plain text are snapped up in seconds by lurkers, without a word of thanks.
