Replied, and for the benefit of others, I recommended (note I do not own this model but have been following the Hisense models closely):
In terms of connectuions, I'd hook up Sky Q to HDMI 1 or 2 - it will upscale to 4K automagically. For the Shield, I'd hook up to HDMI3 or 4, but you'll need to set the Shield to output at either 24 or 30 frames per second if you have those options.
Yes, sadly the BT ULtra HD box will be affected by the first bug I mention - I have added it and the Sky Q to the list of devices affected, the latter in anticipation (could well be the case the feature isn't fixed before Sky Movies Ultra HD go live). Bizarrely with BT Ultra HD you are better off sending an 1080p signal and the telly will upscale to 4K.....

how do you know which hdmi socket is arc/2.0?

14 Jun 162#41
Be aware of long-term faults on the 2015 models (bar the entry level K321/EC591),. of which this is one:
- no 4k/60fps compatibility on the 2 HDMI 2.0 sockets
- no Amazon Video
- media player only plays in full screen
- issues with Plex (may be a Plex issue in fairness to Hisense)
The top fault is key with the launch of Ultra HD Blu-ray players from Sammy and Panasonic (and the Xbox One S soon), as well as the Nvidia Shield, BT Ultra HD box and presumably the Sky Q too when they starts broadcasting 4K.
This fix has been promised since the turn of the year and is now sketchily pencilled in for 'July' and, comically, delayed for another month at the end of each month.
Interestingly, Hisense have revealed this model (also known as 58K700 - this partiuclar model AO is selling is the EU version which is perfectly fine for us....well until next Thursday at least ) may get an HDR update of sorts, but I suspect this will be limited to USB and possibly streaming. Should be possible to bypass the 60fps issue with a HDFury if you happen to have one lying around...
There is a Hisense France beta firmware doing the rounds which allegedly fixes the 4K/60fps and media player issues but no-one has reported back for definite yet.
I have a keen interest in Hisense's development and suspect they will be the next Samsung. However, there are issues with all bar their entry level models and a bizarre approach to releasing worldwide models, with features changing between territories making it almost impossible to compare.
This has the makings of a good interim telly for those waiting to pounce once OLED prices become more sensible (and the wrinkles are ironed out on the tech) but caveat emptor - there are firmware issues which mean this is still a half-formed product.
As far as I remember, I had to get a returns authorisation code from Hisense which I then passed over to AO, they then processed a return and gave me a collection date to pick it up. It was tough getting it accepted as faulty but was this was done the refund was pretty quick. I didn't have tracking though.

I can totally agree with your comments, I sent mine back last week after owning it for 10 days. It took them from day one to get AO.com to agree it was faulty & was passed between them & Hisense for the rest of the time. I now own the 65" 2016 Hisense model can't fault this one!! Good price too for its size & features!

that rubbish they spout does not alter your statutory consumer rights, it is designed to minimise the number or returned items but has no legal basis. the reality is you will get a full refund if you require it and the law states this should be the case - AO will simply make YOU put more effort in for the refund
I will steer clear of this AO shower - see no reason to deviate from Richer Sounds and John Lewis who will happily price match and are reputable resellers
HDR allows for a higher range of values to be used to specify the colour levels of each pixel so you get much more subtlety in areas of similar colours e.g. black areas (instead of being all black) and very bright areas (not just whited out). Needs your source (Sky, Bluray, Streaming) etc to have it though (but seeing as you're likely to own a TV for a few years it's worth considering).

I would warn anyone who is considering buying a hisense. I got this 58" 4K 3D model from AO.com a couple of months ago. Without doubt the worse TV I have ever owned and it went back last week. The 3D is shocking, very bad ghosting. The aspect ratio of 2:35:1 movies were wrong when playing media files, it would stretch them to fill the screen and there was no way of changing this, Hisense had a very unhelpful and rude tech guy who just told me "well that's the way it is as its trying to upscale and it's not considered a fault". Lastly it creaked all the time, the entire back of the tv was made of plastic and it was so noisey. I finally managed to send it back for a refund. I opted for a Panasonic Viera 4K curved 3D set which it in a different league.... even the remote controls, Hisense is cheap, light and clicky. Bottom line, you pay cheap, you get cheap. I was prepared to give Hisense a fair crack of the whip and would never ever return. On a plus for Hisense, great 4K quality, not amazing on SD, so so on 1080p but fantastic on 4K, that for me would be the only plus.

As far as I'm aware this isn't possible via hdmi, I don't even think the hdmi is 2.0 on any mac yet. You need to use a DisplayPort / thunderbolt to hdmi cable. The full 60 hz should be possible too if the screen supports it driven by our 2015 MacBooks.

This year has already seen the release of two rather confusing models, the 65K5510 which appears to be a relaunched version of the 65 inch version of this model minus the 3D but with local HDR playback and Amazon Video out of the box (and can be had for £799, probably less if the AO discount works on that model too - Owners thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/hisense-he65k5510uwts-owners-thread.2032992 ), and the humungous 75M7900 (owners thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/hisense-75m7900-75-inch-4k-ultra-hd-tv-with-hdr.2022072/ ) which is a 2016 model number but seemingly with 2015 model specs.
Other models launched in 2016 are the entry level M3000 range (which are incredibly cheap and cheerful, again alleging HDR for local playback and streaming - owners thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/hisense-55-m3300.2028817/ ), and within the next week or so the M7000 (owners thread https://www.avforums.com/threads/hisense-55-65m7000-uled-owners-thread.2018360/ ) which is what Hisense call a ULED model (Ultra LED), ie. a step up but again seemingly missing a number of key features upon release.
All very confusing, model number wise.
This has the makings of a good interim telly for those waiting to pounce once OLED prices become more sensible (and the wrinkles are ironed out on the tech) but caveat emptor - there are firmware issues which mean this is still a half-formed product.
