is the euro being aired as 4K? otherwise it's a bit pointless. heat on the price though.

Dont Richer Sounds price match and offer a 6 yr warranty? Plus check out AOs restock t&cs....

In case you are thinking you may return...
Here's some additional things you need to know
*If you've used the product
We're happy for you to unpack the item and inspect it properly, however, if you've used or installed it, we will only make a partial refund to cover the loss in value of the product. Please note, this could be up to 50% of the price of the item. Your refund will be made within 14 days of collection.
For this alone, regardless of price, it's a cold (for the retailer).

1 Jun 16#10
so with the code and the TV cashback, it's less than £350.
Not bad. Shame the 55" is out of stock

Agreed. Just checked RS and same price but no trade in and 6 yr warranty extra 40 quid...

That statement refers to the people who are like - "I don't like it after a month" or "ive seen a better deal after a week" people. The sale of goods act 1974 amended protects you from sale of goods that are defective and you would have no problems with AO getting replacements for faulty goods.
On another note I have just bought this TV from Richersounds for £418 for the 6yr guarantee. The picture quality is excellent, the OS is ok. Netflix is awesome, Amazon less so.
My only gripe with this telly is its built in anycast is not compatible with BT Sport app.
Well worth the money IMO

£399 at Richer Sounds with 6 year guarantee.
Euros will be aired in 4k. As seen advertised (I'm pretty sure I did anyway). If not, the TV will upscale anyway, so it'll still be clearer than other TVs.
If does have HDR. All the 2016 models are HDR according to richer sounds.

Likely to be rubbish though judging by the number of 4K TV deals here surely no one watches SD these days. ;-)
damadgeruk
1 Jun 16#17
Like it or not, the statement applies to anyone that decides to return the goods after having switched on. I didn't mention returns due to faults as the restocking fee is not applicable in that case (the Consumer Act covers that-SoGA no longer applies).
gr8t1
1 Jun 16#18
In all honesty I think the picture is fine, the thing you notice is the sound. When you switch between HD and SD channels there is a massive difference in sound. Picture quality as I say I think is acceptable.
gr8t1
1 Jun 16#19
By that I mean SD channels are very quiet and you have to turn the volume up a lot. Then you forget, go to HD channel and BOOM  Ooops sleeping child upstairs no longer sleeping......

Good tvs. My brother got an earlier Hisense TV and the picture quality is great. Sound is not too good unless you have external speakers. My main gripe was the remote which is very plasticy with small buttons. Perhaps someone can comment on this the remote. On the plus side menus etc are pretty nice and well laid out. At this price its a great telly.
Gr8t1 as you own this T.V is the picture good from the box? Or have you had to put your own user settings into it? Any help on this as mine gets delivered next week.

I speak from very recent experience. AO will make it as difficult as possible for you to return a set you're not 'happy' with - read DSE, poor sound, bad manufacturing quality etc .
In the first instance they'll try and involve the manufacturer in discussing your issue. Remember I'm not talking faults here (for that they want to send an engineer). They also consider switching the set on as 'use'.
AO is good for prices but in terms of returns, they're no Richer Sounds or Amazon.
I'll never use them again.

Register an account in AO , you will get £20 credit , beleive can be used with any purchases ?
shayman1
1 Jun 16#28
Can I just say regarding returns.
Search through Google, they're one of their trusted sellers. If I'm not happy regarding any of AO's dealings I've to raise it with them, they them become an intermediary. This may help or not, unsure as I've never gone down that route yet.
gr8t1
1 Jun 16#29
I found the saturation too high, its set at 50, I changed that to 40. I haven't watched any sport yet for all these motion features so haven't had a reason to alter them, I think there is another post on here recently where someone has some more recommended settings.

Nice one. Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look round as there doesn't seem to be many reviews about at the moment.

adrians8
1 Jun 16#32
does anyone know if 55 inch model be back in stock with ao?
You're stupid. ;-) Easy mistake, that Panasonic is a Vestel designed and manufactured set with a Panasonic badge stuck on. Big brands are using these (underhand IMO) tactics to lure unsuspecting buyers. I'd take the Hisense, albeit from RS as the restocking fees at AO are outrageous.

Certainly a good TV, however not sure I would spend any money on 'minor' makers; I invested in a seiki 4k and regretted it, I am not saying they are useless and poorly built, I am just saying that I went on amazon and got a Sony kd49x8305 which was very good, another world really, I just paid £470 delivered next day from amazon warehouse and it was new, however I realised there was a display defect and replaced it with a LG 49uf675v which was £330.....I now monitor amazon warehouse on a daily basis for bargains as I would no longer invest in 'cheaper' tech labels. You will definetely notice a massive difference in build quality and performance by buying the well known LG, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic etc.....just an advice not criticising at all....as I am not asking people to spend way more money to get a good tv, I paid less really....
2015
1 Jun 16#38
Whilst I do agree with what you are saying I'm not sure it's right to say Hisense are minor players. They are a pretty big company but are just not as well known this side of the pond yet. I wouldn't put them in the same league as Panasonic or Sony but they are definitely not in the same league as Seiki, JVC, Techwood etc
thesampeople
1 Jun 16#39
Thanks couldn't see it myself
litania72
1 Jun 16#40
agree 100% however please note that Seiki are also big players in Asia....still no comparison with the mais tech makers, I have been really impressed by Sony, really loved the android os and build quality, the frame/bezel is made of metal and the sound is excellent (just need a tv subwoofer), I saw recently a 55 inch hisense (believe m3300 or similar) and was really impressed, but still.....for what I paid for a LG/Sony 4k, it just feels such a massive bargain compared to spending 400 on a hisense....suppose it would be the same when I had to choose between a cheap new car and my second hand alfa giulietta 2.0 170bhp......same money as a Dacia....or anything 'cheaper'...I suppose it gets you much more for the same or less....my Tv is second hand, however it is NEW....openbox...people who buy things they cannot afford and then return...who knows.
check the above, sony 49 inch £412 or £450 if you prefer amazon...... just saying. You can return and compared to certain online shops they do not charge you....just saying....
shayman1

Good old Amazon. Link above now £740.. Honestly avf forums have these down as the next big thing tech wise.

We have just bought the 58" 3D 4K tv from ao what a waste of time they are! The TV & problems with ao.com listed below.
The washed out look unfortunately can't be tweaked away with settings, I have made minor adjustments to the left and right seating and the color drops off drastically and starts the washed out look if I sit in the next seat directly to my left or right then the screen is a completely different color/grey, hence my original phone call to yourself this morning 31/05/2016.
In essence its 2x as bad as normal viewing, all the blacks are grey and colors are crushed.
4K content played through HDMI 3 & 4 is a judder fest, very distracting to look at, beautiful picture head on, but the judder is not watchable and definitely broken, unless you sit dead center, colors start to fade/grey, + the not being able to turn off the motion setting + judder = broken frames, and tearing. ( Internet is more than capable as I immediately get a read ahead of 3+ minutes at the start of the stream )
Flashlighting : This is very dominant and ruins the TV, the edge lighting bleeds through the lower panel and looks as though a torch is pointing up through the screen, again, fades and greys/halos the picture.
Arc over HDMI, it works fine for controlling devices as expected, routed from the ARC on my Sony Receiver it only gives front left/right and center sound seperately, the rear left and right are being combined with the fronts and nothing from the LFE channel, Blu Ray played through receiver is fine, anything connected to TV using ARC has the sound problem.
and 3D well, its shocking to look at, maybe its down to some of the issues with bleed/clouding, but not all the scene is getting the 3D effect, gives you a headache in minutes, huge amounts of crosstalk.
Its also a little bit silly having Youtube built into a 4k TV, to then only be limited to a maximum of 720p ?
A bit of a ramble, but I think that covers it, I'm thinking now in hindsight i should have gone for a 2016 model and not these older 2015 models as its obvious they have a fair few faults, reading around I see others in similar positions, not sure at this point I want another one of these.
AO called this morning with we will be getting Hisense to call you early afternoon as of yet no phone call!! I wanted this all sorted asap so I have something to watch whilst recovering from surgery. No chance as of now!! Will keep you all updated but in mean time I would say avoid both!!
sheilacpr@hotmai
2 Jun 16#44
Waiting for Hisense to call early afternoon was agreed by AO no phone call as of now. Say they was passing the buck!!! Would like this TV removed from my house & a refund but doesn't look like any of this will happen today! See my post further down for all my issues!!

Threaten them with trading standards, the item bought is not as described and does not work correctly.
Just out of curiosity how long have you had the TV?
sheilacpr@hotmai
3 Jun 16#46
Since Sunday 29th may! Hisense have agreed we have a faulty panel now but still no word from AO when they will collect this from us & arrange a replacement tv. We are considering having the 65" as it's the newer model, any comments welcome'n
sheilacpr@hotmai
3 Jun 16#47
Update: we have contacted AO this afternoon after no phone call only to find guy dealing with this has gone home, won't be back until Monday. No one else can deal with it?? Stuck with an awful tv over the weekend & possibly a lot longer at this rate.

I just bought this TV from Richer Sounds, overall I would say £449 with 6 year warranty is amazing value.
But at this price I knew there had to be some shortcoming and I think I found it. Viewing angles and general picture quality, it's not amazing, in fact it has all the telltale signs of a TN panel. Not an issue if you are going to be sitting at the right height and right angle for the TV, which I am. But worth knowing. Clearly it was never going to reproduce images as well as my Dell 27" 4k monitor with IPS panel at this price, and this is why.
One added bonus though, the previous owners of my house left behind some nice satellite connectors, and although I don't think anyone has mentioned this, and it's not the most obvious feature of the TV, it does support FreeSat! And it works, I haven't even bothered to plug in the normal TV antenna yet.
The remote is a pleasant surprise, good size, nice big buttons.
Menu system is a little slow, and I've yet to work out some things like channel favourite system. But I'll get there.
Definitely great value overall.

Finally sorted this tv it goes back tomorrow after 10 days of haggling with Hisense & AO.com. Going for the upgrade, hopefully all will be ok! Will not use AO again their customer service is too poor!
sheilacpr@hotmai
7 Jun 16#51
Did you buy the 58" version? Good luck if you did as the picture is very poor on this model, colours bleeding into each other & a torch light effect, sitting in one position straight on is better than sitting to the side etc. The blacks aren't black they are grey etc. Hope you have better luck than us!
