Seems a great price for good 65" inch 4k telly. Local HDR payback is supported and apparently this set has a 10bit panel (according to John Lewis' description. Also has 4k versions of Netflix and Amazon apps.

Hi Zappermac- did you manage to measure the distance between the feet? I've just ordered this tv too and might need to change my stand as it is only 120cm wide...?

Hi, I called the telesales department, chap called John. He went to the site and used the code to place the order. I said I'd already placed my ao.com order (which I had) but was considering cancelling it if he'd match their offer. He tried the code which worked but couldn't see the trade in offer as its ended now so could only do it for 769. Hope that helps

Manni79.i tried calling and they said they couldn't match ao as they offer 6 year guarantee.did you call a store to order or telesales?any help would be appreciated.

Called up Richer Sounds and had them price match it at £769 using the GET30 code. AO.com seems to have stopped the £50 tradein so he couldn't match that but £50 for a 6 year warranty is good enough for me

I am sorry to hear that ur having problem with you TV..Even I had the same experience with AO before..thats why I bought this one from JL..eventhoug the price is more..JL is much more efficient dealing returns..

Got this as a replacement for the faulty 58" version coming tomorrow. I'm hoping the picture will be a vast improvement on the 65" as on 58" colours bleed, black is grey, red is pink etc. Also my sound system didn't work either. So really hope this is the tv I've been waiting for as AO.com are the worst company dealing with faulty returns, it's taken 10 days for them to agree that the 58" was faulty. Keep you all posted what the 65" is like!

HDR definitely is there to give an overall better picture. I mentioned the standard Ultra HD Premium as that ensures you get what HDR is supposed to give you.
The first time I became aware of HDR was in the 2004 game Half Life 2 as it was possibly the first game that used it. HDR is subjective, for example check your smartphone, if it's a recent one then in the camera options it should have a HDR mode which you can enable or disable. There is a time and place to use HDR. Here's a photographers perspective on HDR as used in Photography >
Thanks mate would appreciate it, then I just have to persuade the wife :o)

It's too big. My current stand won't fit. It's defiantly around 4feet apart. But if you want I can measure this evening.

Thanks mate
But still couple of questions
1- is it better picture quality on tv with HDR compare to just normal 4K tv. I mean does the HDR really make difference in quality or it is just another way of giving fancy name and selling product. (Of course when playing HDR contents)
2- is it going to be big hit or not. Just wanted to be future proof. Of course on one can predict future but an opinion would be nice.

Fishmaster, thank you for explaining as I was not sure what the difference was.

"Any one has experience the difference between 4K and HDR?"
Invalid question, 4K is a resolution. HDR means High Dynamic Range and is the enhanced colour profile capability of the TV.
There is no choice between 4K and HDR as a comparison, you can't compare two entirely dissimilar entities. You can have a 4K TV without HDR or a 4K TV with HDR. HDR is not a resolution there is no comparison to be made with 4K. HDR has an association with 4K.
"Is it worth paying extra for HDR the or it isn't going to be as big hit as 4K?"
Again invalid question. 4K states the resolution of the TV, HDR states that the TV is able to show an enhanced colour profile.
To answer whether you should get a HDR capable 4K TV, then it's early days and there's not much content out there. If you wish to get an HDR capable TV then make sure it's standardised to "Ultra HD Premium".

Any one has experience the difference between 4K and HDR?
And any idea how this TV is compare to Samsung UE65KU6000KXXU both have HDR and are 4K. I am confuse which one to go for?
Is it worth paying extra for HDR the or it isn't going to be as big hit as 4K?
Please advise.

HDR os Local only I believe so from your own sources I guess. Downloads/USB etc.

6 Jun 16#24
Richer Sound's specs suggest this doesn't have HDR. My opinion is that for a TV to have HDR functionality, then it should work with all sources. I would be disappointed to find out the HDR wouldn't work with the main sources of HDR material.
anyone knows what is the real refresh rate of this tv?
GAVINLEWISHUKD
6 Jun 161#22
I have yet to jump on the HDR bandwagon as I'm yet to find a tv (been through the 4 sets my local richer sounds has) that when the colour profile for normal content is right it's way out with HDR content. Either the reds are over saturated or the blue depending on manufacturer.
Plus I'm not in any rush as there is virtually no content at the moment.

Great price, personally going to wait for an uhd premium TV as don't trust this HDR 'locally' playback only.

My limited experience with ao.com is that they expect everyone to buy on credit and to take extended warranty. They will robustly defend any attempt to manage their expectation!

I'm sure most people are hearing HDR as the next buzzword and wanting it even if they don't know what it is. This is what HDR is and means >

great price at £800. i could give an old telly and that makes it £750, and i have a £20 off voucher for signing up which makes it £730, but how do you get it to £700?
i'm not sure if this will fit on my unit though. ideally i need one that has the stand in the middle like my current tv which sticks over the edge and is 50"
