Ive not posted before on HUKD but wanted to on this as I've has this phone since launch and this might help someone buy or not buy.
Pros -
Massive screen, very clear image, fast charge with USB-C (this really is a sh*t, shower and shave charger, it charges from empty to pretty much full in an hour or so), good camera, front facing speakers, finger print scanner, stock android so no bloatware, updates 1st from Google as its a Nexus device, price (under £400 for a phone of this calibre is a great deal).
Cons -
Build quality: yeah youre going to want the best screen cover and case you can get unless you don't mind scratches all over your massive screen and shiny metal body, oh and the little chips and dinks to the sides as well. The gorilla glass is not brilliant and the phone is big so in and out of pocket use will scratch it easily.
Reparability: Your average phone shop is not fixing any screen issues, reviewed as 2/10 for ease of fixing, check the interweb for reviews and videos on replacing a screen it is crazy, this is not an easy phone to fix unless willing to send back. A new screen is £150+ with local shops and over £200+ with Huawei.
Bugs: You get the latest version of android yes but be prepared to also be testers, so far I've had the battery issue with a security fix (phone not going into sleep mode when not in use and battery drain V quickly) and a number of other small issues with functionality and battery.
USB-C: This is a blessing and a curse, it is great but forget your own charger and noone you know can help as noone has this yet.
No additional storage: You need to use cloud storage a lot and I have the 32gb version, I'd say go bigger but it costs more.
sorry for war and peace, hope someone found this useful.

I picked up a mint condition 64gb on Ebay a while back (for less than this. WIN!). Finally binned Samsung as they are simply too slow to update now. If they bother at all. This will get updates quickly. And for a long time. And without bloat.
Screen on mine is fine. Speakers? No idea. When does anyone use phone speakers?
Can't say any of the updates have caused me noticeable problems. I have mine in a Spigen case. Dropped in onto concrete the other day. From waist height. Landed on the corner. And it's absolutely fine. Still not a scratch on it.
Great phone (64gb was the minimum for me due to lack of card slot). And USB-C is fine for me. Current PC has it built into the mobo. And I work in IT so I'm not the only one in the office with a USB-C phone!

anyone who has one tell me how long their battery lasts? I bought one of curry's eBay refurbished. quite heavy user but battery runs out after about 10 hours, that's with the saver apps installed too. not sure if faulty phone or their all similar.

I also went for this last time and think it’s a great phone. I got the 64GB version as 128GB was a bit expensive for me and the 64GB USB-C flash drive I bought can be used when I go away should I need any more space.

Went for this deal, the last time it came around and do not regret it for a second. I went for the 64gb Gold and I can say in the flesh it is a seriously nice looking phone. Was going to get this from other parties and possibly even ebay at the time, but decided to go with Google because of the deal and also to give me some peace of mind, in case anything should go wrong. Seriously, this phone is awesome!!

Just checked the warranty card in the box. It says 24 months for the host unit, 12 for the charger and 6 for the battery. The warranty is offered by Huawei but I'm sure Google would have to offer the same if you bought it from then.

Hmm, many reviews say the speakers are some of the best in class. Is it an issue with earlier models?
kamtheman
5 Jun 16#40
Well, all I can say to that is there are about 6 independent sites that have reviewed it and none have given it below 4.5 out of 5.
Something as obvious as a screen problem as clear as you state surely would have been spotted? Several reviews have been updated after a year and they still love it.
Just sayin'. No production line is perfect. My concern would be how they react so such a problem and I believe Google will simply replace it.

Good price but the screen and speaker issues were never fixed by google or huawei.
Specifically, the vast majority of screens are very uneven, have pink blotches, or have what is essentially a pink-to-green gradient going across them, either horizontally or vertically. This is simply caused by poor manufacturing, not the screen itself. You can see for yourself under direct light. The more pinkish areas will appear warped under direct light when the screen is off. The screen is essentially mounted unevenly/poorly. Modern AMOLED panels are generally a greenish/blueish tint when viewed head on, and pinkish when viewed off angle. This is what causes the pink gradient and blotchiness.
If you wan't an example of a perfectly executed AMOLED screen, look at the Note 2 or the OnePlus X. Even the current crop of S7 Edge suffer from it to some degree, but isnt widespread or really that noticeable. Normal S7 not so much.
As for the speakers, the bottom one is always muffled and sounds tonedeaf. The volume is also noticeably lower. This isnt a software issue or even a hardware issue. Its a design issue. They located the bottom speaker almost fully underneath the glass panel, to the right of the actual speaker grille. Terrible design, although they're still great speakers for anything that isnt viewed in landscape.
Unless you really want the flawed speakers or excellent development community, I'd personally wait for the ZTE Axon 2 or the OnePlus 3 (if you want to take a risk).

Oneplus have already said the new phone will be about the same price as the 64gb Oneplus two launch price which was £289 I believe.
That would also be for the 4gb version and there are rumours of a 6gb version which would almost certainly be more like £380
Im going to wait to see what's actually announced but don't get your hopes up of the prices quoted in your linked pages. They've just done currency conversions which everyone knows it doesn't work like that

Got this phone, got it on contract (64gb model) for £31 per month on o2.
Fantastic phone and easily the best I've ever owned - I would argue it's probably the best phone on the market and build quality is amazing. I would however highly recommend a case as although quite robust, if it falls on the edge where the volume button is it can bend it as its made of metal (this is what happen to me).
Thankfully Huawei support was good and they replaced not only the button but the metal aluminium which I had dropped and scratched
Also - If you buy it from the PLAY store and have any issues; google will send you a replacement as they do not have a repair centre - if bought from anywhere else such as a mobile network provider you need to deal with huawei directly who have repair centres that will attempt a repair first and you need to wait for the phone to come back (google send you a next day replacement )

OnePlus three is being released on the 14th, better to wait for 6GB ram and better processor for less money.
If you bought it from Google, contact them. They may refund you the difference.

4 Jun 161#26
Until the reviews come in it's difficult to be objective but from the specs you can say that they are similar except that the 6P has a better screen, bigger battery and possibly superior camera. Build quality wise you'd expect the 6P to be better as it has a uni metal body. They are aimed at different price ranges so the comparisons are hard to draw.
