cold, too expensive for old tech.

Did they find a box of these at the back of the warehouse?

Had mine for two years now and as already posted, it runs Marshmallow.
I am using it now, and after trying a few of my friends tablets I am very pleased to see it rates very high.
After all, how many devices get android updates which keep them current.

According to most android sites, this should also get updated to marshmallow. The 2012 version won't (that's on this site for £20 cheaper). Seems a good deal.

It already runs Marshmallow 6.0.1. It was one of the first devices to receive it.

Mine been on MM for months. Gets regular Android security patches as well. I've noticed that the one I've had is starting to have touchscreen issues.

Asus are with avoiding for tablets (at least) altogether...as you'll find out when it breaks within the warranty period....and they mess you about with failed repairs until it is out of warranty.

great device, as above, had for a couple of years. runs cyanogenmod, kali, kodi, all perfectly. top notch hardware, great design, sturdy. nice and light with a great battery life. excellent otg driver support (have used with 3g dongle, high-gain wifi cards, ir receiver, dab radio, &c.) still going strong and very tempted to get another for a spare!

Great tablet, been using the 32gb version for 2-3 years now  voted hot since it's currently the cheapest around and being a Nexus device, still supported by google's latest os but have been cheaper previously. Anyone remember the sun promo deal a few years back? :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you mean 'branded'? You mean by a company with a large advertising budget?

Made by somebody like Asus that has a reputation for good quality products rather than some hokey cokey no name chinese tablet from gear best that will fail after 2 months and be impossible to return as gear best will ignore you....
Yes Asus have a massive reputation for being absolute tw*ts. They've not resolved their customer service attitude it appears.

It's a thread I started...Why would I troll my own thread...really.. ???
Only ever had one Asus product fail myself..motherboard DOA. Was RMA'ed and replaced with no issue. Still got an Asus P5 Deluxe board running in one of my servers that's been in use for about 10yrs now...
Each to their own I guess but I have no issue with Asus products..besides If the tablet fails in warranty you go back to the retailer nothing to do with Asus CS

I haven't accused you of trolling, you're responding to the wrong person. I was only giving my opinion of Asus.

had one, was good until it started having touchscreen issues which is apparently fairly common
iirc something to do with a weak connection inside

Mine lasted for 2 and half years before it had some eMMC errors, apparently also quite a common problem.

I find it odd that lots of things on ebay you can order delivered to your local Argos but this item you cannot and yet its Argos selling it!

I just got one of these from Argos and it has a problem with the digitizer, it's randomly picking up pressed all over the place. As brilly said above I checked online and it seems to be a common problem, I'm sending mine back for a refund.
Just something to bear in mind.

Ah the 'digitizer' doobrie whatchamacallit. Quite surprising that it's 'randomly picking up pressed all over the place'. If you mean the touchscreen is having problems then take it back and swap for another one.
