Bought this last month and it is awesome, 4K with touch screen and a rear display

Whats the difference between silver and black?

I thought only the black did 4K video; the silver model is 1080p.

This will do 4K but at only 15 frames per second which is low.

The Hero 3+ Black refurbished is £149.99 on ebay from a GoPro certified company including a 12 month GoPro warranty. It's almost identical to this model in terms of specs. Differences are that the Hero 4 Silver has a screen on the back, has some kind of low-light time lapse photo feature and has Bluetooth to connect to your phone, whereas the Hero 3+ Black comes with a WiFi remote control. For the £30 saving plus the convenience of the remote I went with the 3+ Black. The Bluetooth is unnecessary as you can connect to your phone/tablet via WiFi (which is apparently better anyway).

Ordered one a few weeks back. It's as new. Different packaging but that's the only difference. I had a 3 black that died so prefer something that's already expired and been operated on.

Anyone else order as a guest get anything more than an "order submitted" email? I checked out with paypal and apart from that email my order isn't showing up on their tracking page HERE . I know some had issues on another thread with orders missing from the system, not sure if that's happened with mine or it just hasn't been accepted and fully processed yet...

Nope the silver is not the same as 3+ black.

Silver has more camera control like aperture for example which helps in low light shots or night mode filming plus pro tune.

Specs look the same on paper but the functionality is upgraded with better sensor

You get a confirmation email and when it's dispatched you will get an email or invoice or something that also has tracking number. Click on the tracking and if it doesn't show anything means the courier is not yet sent out. Don't panic it will come to you :smiley:

Mine arrived in about 4 working days and must say its in perfect condition and all brand new. Other than the retail fancy box everything else is just that same as you expect when you buy a new one.

It also has all the films on the housing lens and screen still intact.

Flawless buy don't bother about buying from a reseller. I was going for the 3+ but for 40 pounds extra and being quite equal to the black plus the lcd screen integrated and night mode and sensor upgrades this is far more of a bargain than older models. Go on YouTube and see the differences between the models I am talking about you will understand my point.

Unless of course you just want something to make a decent hd recording and aren't going to get creative with it

Thanks, yeah I also bought the HERO3+ Black from them a few weeks back when it was a deal on here for £120.. going to sell that now though while 75% off fees on ebay (maybe keep remote) and upgrade to this Silver version for the screen and night shooting. I just forgot to login while ordering this one and there were a few on the last thread that placed orders but gopro had no trace and they had problems getting refunds! Had it confirmed that my order is on the system now though and should go out today. :smiley:

Anyone received one of these and seen what the quality of the refurb is like? Is it worth dropping the money on one?!

I got the silver version when this was first posted. Took about a week for delivery. The package is different but the contents in the box is the same as you would get from a RRP one. The condition of the Go Pro looked brand new however, the one I received was a faulty refurb. It didn't charge, screen kept on freezing and buttons didn't respond. Called them up to get a replacement, they said it would take 3 weeks to get me a replacement so I decided against it, now in the process of getting a refund.

Has anyone received the item? how's the quality? Tia

anybody managed to order the Hero4 Silver? my first order (paypal) got spontaneously cancelled saying it was out of stock. Then 2 further paypal orders failed by saying the webpage can't load. Then my credit card order also failed after Lloyds clicksafe.

Using chrome. and the money is showing as pending on my paypal and credit card accounts!

Looks like mine's faulty. They've asked me to ship it back and they're going to send another one when they get it back.

It keeps locking up after about 10 seconds after turning on. The screen is just blank when it should be showing the image that the camera is seeing then just crashes. Hopefully yours is ok :smiley:

Just tested mine and it works perfect on all video formats and even phone control :smiley:

This is literally 4 times expensive than an original sj4000.

Delivery took about a week...seems to come from Holland.
As others have said...basic packaging but all good with the camera!!
I would have no hesitation if you are thinking about buying a refurb...it has a full years warranty so you cannot go wrong:-))
I have tried various other clones including the sj400 which is good
But I will be honest and say this produces the best quality footage hands down...an amazing little camera!!

Bought my one about 6 weeks ago. I was worried what the condition would be like, but you wouldn't know it was not new. The only thing that was different was the packaging it arrived in. It arrived in just a normal brown box. Very happy with it. Same price as the sessions but a better camera. I did have to chase them on delivery as it took about 10 day to arrive.

Ordered the black on Tuesday night and it arrived Thursday morning. Amazing quality and you wouldn't even know it was a refurb. Definitely worth getting one for this price, considering the RRP, and you get all the same things as buying brand new one!

Glad everyone else's seem to be ok. Hopefully they'll send me another one as soon as the faulty one arrives back with them.

My Silver arrived yesterday, shipped from Netherlands via FedEx. Camera looks like new and case, mounts & backs wrapped and like new too. All seems to be working correctly so far. Will use and test more today but very happy so far.

If you trying to reduce the cost by adding codes for the refurb it won't work.

Mine came next day but it looks like some of the others in this thread have waited up to a week. I think my initial delivery estimate was a week from the order date.
