I've had mine for a couple of months now, overall i'm pleased with it but you should be aware of a few issues if planning to buy:

- garmin connect is a bit clunky and not as intuitive as the fitbit site
- quite often unit seems to freeze / does not register any steps which is highly annoying
- distance tracking, for running seems to be highly inaccurate. I've been running 5km sessions on a treadmill which repeatedly come out at 6.75km on this unit. Can anyone elighten me on whether you can calibrate it to be more accurate?
- battery life is about 5 days, what it says on the blurb is about right

I think its worth getting because of being waterproof and the phone notifications are extremely useful and much more advance than any fitbit tech currently, for example I never miss a call or text now, just be mindful of the above when making your own decision. Also the strap on the 'regular' size is ridiculously small so if you're an adult male would suggest the XL version.

I see Garmin and automatically think this will have GPS.

HR monitor on these are rubbish. Mines now sat in the cupboard.

Indeed. You only get the ECG accuracy when it's tightly bolted to your chest. Otherwise it's just the normal LED shining on your wrist. And no display, just a ring of LEDs. Seems a little backward to me!

Great activity tracker, does everything that you want it to. The upside for me is the fact that it can substitute the heart rate monitor strap and connect with other Garmin devices (for running and cycling). Downside is the battery life and size.

The chest straps give you a more accurate heart rate and these are not as good, so if you can live with that then so be it. If you're a more serious athlete and need the accuracy then the strap would be one to go for. They all have their place atm, until they can improve the technology for wrist HRMs.

If this work, why do people buy Chest Heart Rate Monitor and pair it with a watch.
Shouldn't the Chest HRM + Watch combo be obsolete? Its so uncomfortable

Decent price, I picked mine up at the start of the year for £5 less, but haven't found it for that price since. Good unit, does everything is says and is probably better than the Fitbit because it's water resistant and I can use mine for 3-4 day before needing to charge it.

Yes, it can count step whilst driving, particularly if you're playing 'air drums'!

IF you want the best device out there for accuracy, check out the Cloudtag Track, about to be released. ECG quality accuracy, beats anything on the market. Just waiting to get my hands on one!

Turns out it was user error all along , I was trying to pair it as a HR+ Thx to all who inspired me to read the instructions one more time

To turn the Bluetooth off, press the button, scroll to the Bluetooth symbol, tap it, you will see Bluetooth waiting to connect, tap that you can then tap again to turn it on or off - by tapping

Yeah did that to! Crazy that it lets you turn it off then hides the option to turn it back on! If garmin don't have a solution it will have to be retuned which is a shame as I spent ages choosing ir

I don't have any option to the left or right, just pair. I reset by holding the button for 10s but no joy

Option to left (before) pair phone on mine says "Bluetooth connected" and if I go into that there is a slider switch (currently on) for Bluetooth. Scared to switch mine off but sounds likely to be that. Otherwise can't you do factory reset and then start afresh ?

PCHPHIL thx for your suggestion but my Bluetooth I get "pair smartphone" and no other options . Sadly it won't pair as the Bluetooth is off! I've been in this circle of hell since Sunday

All reviews for a lot of devices are variable - went for this in end as prefer to have waterproof watch and ability to swim whilst wearing was a plus as hate taking off and putting back on as easy to lose IMO. Nearly bought the TT Spark cardio but prefer functions on Garmin including alerts and 20 squid less into the bargain

Good price but reviews aren't really encouraging.

Menu on phone by pressing end button, then there is a Bluetooth icon so must be option in there as "pair" showing on mine - (you can only pair in app - not in phone settings).

Can anyone help me out? I just got one of these and turned the Bluetooth of and now I can't turn it back on

graaaham2 has made one comment and that was it. Bold statement and probably one made on every site mentioning a HRM this week. Even spammers have to pay the bills though.
