Would this stuff be any good for topping up a driveway that's looking a bit sparse?

No I think these are not recommended for driveways I have seen it written somewhere.

If you took a minute to read the description it says...
Can be used on drives, patios or pathways.

They may let you buy more than one bag if you ask nicely.

Just pointing out that after giving yourself a hernia heaving the stuff into the car it's disappointing that it seems so little when tipped on the ground. Great for small projects, but filling in a drive may require a bulk delivery.

I did take time to read the description and yes it does state it can be used on driveways. But my understanding of it was that you need to use a bigger stone for a driveway, something along the lines of 14mm - 20mm not the 7mm - 14mm that is quoted for these products. I was simply gauging opinion on the matter.

Try B and Q for red gravel (although it's a bit like smallish stones but very attractive)they sell it by the bag otherwise try homebase.

a lighter bag is much easier to chuck

For those without a Home Bargains nearby, these bags look like the same ones Asda are selling at the slightly more expensive price of 3 for £9. Had plenty of Autumn Gold, Blue Slate and Cotswold in the outside section at Coventry Walsgrave yesterday, don't think they stock the other two colours.

yes it's 2.98 for 20kg in homebase and it's 3 for 2 at the min too, 60kg for just under £6 seems like a pretty good price to me.

Tried my local B&M but they don't have the red ones. They said the other branch should, but it's 15-20 miles away. Oh well, I'll keep looking. Thanks for the tip though.

Ordered 1 bags from Brynmawr. Staff incredible, put them in the trolley and took to my boot. I have a small car so they just put 5 bags on and I went back today for the other 5 and again they took out to car and put them in the boot.
Fantastic service.
