Hi, I was in game Barnstaple about 10 minutes ago and heard them talking about extra trade in, they said if you trade in 2 games (I believe xone and ps4, but don't hold me
To it), they will give you an extra £5 trade in credit.

PLEASE make sure you check CEX's trade-in prices first before falling for this. In most cases an extra £5 won't make up for their poor trade-in prices compared to CEX.

For example, I'm looking to trade in Borderlands Handsome Collection and Trackmania Turbo.
Price matching CEX I'd get £36 trade-in at Game. Using Game's values + £5 extra, I'd get £31. So I'm still £5 better off!!!

Just a heads-up anyway :smiley:

can't be used with other offers will mean can't price match cex, not sure if the extra £5 would make it better than cex price match, handy for people without a cex close to game.

Will probably still be rubbish prices. They offered me £20 credit for Doom last week but after price matching CEX they gave me £37. Handy as a seller was selling Dark Souls 3 for £33. If you don't have a CEX near to a Game by you I think you would probably do better on eBay.

Just going to use it for items that are pretty much worthless otherwise like NBA 2K14.Sure in a normal 'Game' styley way the trade-in values of the rest will have gone down by £2.50 mysteriously overnight on the 8th (how cynical

Not particularly a good deal considering trade in prices at GAME are generally a lot worse than CEX. Just get them to price match CEX and beat it by £1. Not voted either way.

they have probably adjust their trade in price down by a few quid a game to compensate for the 5 quid extra.... that's what used to happen

Happy with this. Exhausted all the single player content in Destiny but the trade-in price is rubbish (both at CEX and Game). At least this way I'm getting something back :-)

And for anyone whinging about Game's prices, you can always just exchange for PSN/XBL credit or wait for the weekly deals (Doom for £29.99 is currently on, for example)

How this can get hot is anyone's belief. At a guess, they'd probably give what £15-20 for Black Ops 3 trade-in? Ebay you get £23-30. In addition, GAME with trade in you have to spend it at their prices, bare in mind that their new prices are generally £50+ and used prices are rarely good value.

All I'm saying is, silly to trade in as you'll lose 40-60% of the cash in the process by the money you're getting + the price you're having to buy games at. It takes about 1 minute to list something on ebay and not much effort to post it.

I think it depends how you use it. I only buy from Game when they are the best price around, for instance the current Doom offer with the 10% off code.

And it also depends what games you are trading in. Trading in recent releases, yeah, pointless. But I've got a copy of Sunset Overdrive Day One which is pretty much worthless (even on eBay you'll get **** all) and Broken Sword 5 (which the game trade in page says will give me £7 trade in). £10 for both games, + £5. So that's £15 which I could use on say, a reduced price Doom.

You have to be selective to get value out of it, but I think you can.

GAME once tried offering me £0 trade in value for a one week old bundle copy of Need for Speed Pursuit on Xbox360 (worth aprox £25 at the time). I was getting a trade in quote for seven games all at once, he didn't tell me it was valued at £0 until I requested a breakdown of the trade in prices as the quote was disgracefully low.

I did a little test.Tried 2 decent but not recent releases: Fallout 4 and Halo Collection for Xbox one.
With price match at Cex these would make £9 and £11. With this 'deal' they would make £8.50 and £10.50. Both 50p less.Coincidence?
Think the only way for it to work is a 'worthless' game like NBA2K14 which on price match you'd get £2.50 and with the 'deal' £5.

Haven't read all the comments so might be repeating someone, but the Camden store just told me that they're doubling up only during any games that any UK/Ireland teams are playing +/-30 mins. Have a feeling they didn't know what was going on, but they said that's the case for the rest of the tourney
