But is the base proper pizza dough
Or is it more like bread dough

Eww indeed.
I think "freshly made" means someone puts toppings on the factory made base after smearing on some factory made tomato sauce.

The regular crust ones are very bread-y, the thin crust are OK.
I don't rate them at all to be honest, maybe our store (Calcot) is not as good as others?

Really nice pizzas but I wish they would change the pepperoni, it's far too salty.

Always been this price but good for awareness I guess. We have a sainsburys behind the pub, cheaper than the takeaway and probably better quality ingredients

very lovely pizzas. tried it for the first time 2 months ago and was shocked to find it was sainsbury's. I think £4 is the regular price though

Love these, definitely my favourite supermarket pizzas. Heated.

Always found the bases on these "great" supermarket pizzas doughy and crap, nothing like fresh dough.

The thin crust is lovely

Sadly this is correct, they used to actually freshly make the base, and they used to be the absolute best pre-made pizza you could get. Now the base is factory made with just toppings. These pizza's are generally still better than most, but no longer the best (however I don't think any of them are very good - but that must be my Southern Italian background expecting too much!)

Chicago Town have better taste from this.
Best value for money.
Current price £2.50 at Sainsbury/Tesco

These aren't bad but I always think they are really tight with the tomato base and as a result they can taste a bit bland. I normally get the chicken and peppers one with the red onion.

The bases come in frozen as does the mozzarella, some of the toppings come in fresh though.
Due to the competitive market Sainsbury's isn't of the quality it once was sadly. Still a good price though
