If Amazon Fresh is available in your area you can be eligible for a 30 day trial if you have Prime, or you can sign up to the 30 day Prime trial and Amazon Fresh at the same time. If you spend over £60 you can get a FREE £20 Amazon Credit. Delivery is free over £40 so it seems like a good deal if you can get it (33% back in Amazon Credit).
I believe it is available in London and I'm sure it will be rolled out to more places like PrimeNOW has. So this is also a heads up for those outside the eligible area.
Offer is limited to one per customer and account.
To qualify to receive your £20 Amazon.co.uk gift card:
Sign up for your FREE 30-day trial of AmazonFresh. If you are not currently a Prime member, you will also need to sign up for Prime (or a 30-day free trial of Prime if eligible).
Reserve your one-hour slot for delivery between 16 - 30 June, 2016.
Place an order of AmazonFresh products (“Qualifying Items”) of £60 or more (“Minimum Purchase”) for delivery between 16 - 30 June, 2016.
Within 72 hours of your delivery, we’ll automatically apply a £20 Amazon.co.uk gift card (“The Offer”) to your account and send you a confirmation email.
Enjoy shopping with your £20 Amazon.co.uk gift card!
Also I found that Daylesford Organic Farm produce has a 20% off promotion, theoretically you can get £75 worth of Daylesford Organic food for £40 (after 20% off to £60 and then £20 Amazon credit). There may be more offers on other brands of produce. https://www.amazon.co.uk//l/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_ukdfmt1_2c1?node=8580503031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-fresh-search-5&pf_rd_r=VFDE0PC1RJC7Q0YCVKTH&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=973184327&pf_rd_i=8662693031

I've got a greengrocer, a butcher and a fishmonger down the road. We have a chat and a smile when I shop there. Why would I want to use this?
And nobody come in with a 'time thing' because it takes longer to shop on Amazon than it does to nip down to the shops.

To avoid pretending you give a sh*t about what's going on in the lives of those grocers. butchers, and fishmongers you keep having to talk to

If you don't want to use Amazon fresh then don't use itbut stop bloody moaning.
There are lots people who are disabled, old etc with plenty of reasons why this is a good idea for them.
Personally it works for me as I have a kid and instead of spending my limited free time dragging her round the shops I can do something more worthwhile with her. I also do my online shop at work so technically get paid to do it too!
Moral of the story if you don't like it then don't use it but don't knock people who do!!

Amen to that, there's 5 bookies and 5 charity shops and a cash converters in my town centre though. Sign of the times.

It's not even about access. The amount of butchers/grocers etc that don't open on a Saturday and/or Sunday when I am actually off is amazing.
Although my local butchers is still cheaper than my local supermarket for things like Lamb, which many people fail to realise - meaning more tasty lambs for me!

Amazon Fresh sources from local markets and stores too and perhaps this will give options to people who don't have access to local quality produce. Admittedly it will probably be expensive... However I can see that Daylesford Organic Farm Gloucestershire is doing 20% off so on top of the introductory £20 free Amazon, could be a good deal for someone who might want to try good quality organic meat.
See link for more local shops/markets supplying Amazon fresh:
I know it won't stop anyone using this service, but unfortunately what'll happen is that it will accelerate the demise of the high street, (although I know they are far from alone in this) but more importantly they will continue to cherry pick the most profitable areas by undercutting the existing providers, and once done they will raise prices, just like they did to the book shops...

Yes, communities evolved with technology and transportation so that you could find communities of people with similar interests and of people you like, rather than being confined to those of people you are nearest to.

Yeah, like I always shoot the breeze with my Amazon delivery driver; he's got nothing else to do. And then I ask him about Pete who lives up the road, and what he thinks about the latest local gossip. And before you know it, it's time for lunch, so we nip down the pub, etc. etc.

Now you'll have to excuse me breaking away from this gorgeous conversation; I'm off to buy some fresh fish from the fishmonger, some fresh, local beef from the butcher, and some freshly grown vegetables from the greengrocer. Have a nice day.

This specific offer has expired. You need to spend £80 now to be eligible for the £20 giftcard.
However, you can do this now up to 5 times, receiving a total of £100 in giftcards (5x£80 spends = 5x£20 giftcards)

majortom has a major point, although it's a little moot now all the supermarkets offer online shopping. This should already satisfy those with limited time and access. bilbob also made a very good point and probably far more relevant, which is that large corporations such as Amazon can offer to undercut the competition initially with these offers, then by squeezing the profits of local farmers, like the supermarkets already do. Just as you will see Uber decrease what they pay their drivers and increase costs as soon as they have complete hold of the market.
While new technologies will bring benefits to us, they come at a cost to someone. The argument should not be between each other (as we are a community) but with each other and how to ensure small businesses can maintain profits without large corporations squeezing them out of business. Britain was and will be built on entrepreneurial spirit, which always starts with a small business that grows, be that a local butcher or a modern tech firm.
