Almost entirely certain they won't miss your custom, sounds like you're the kind of person who likes to spend his holidays sat in an English bar watching Only Fools & Horses.

too hot. too many restrictions. I like to drink when i want to. wear what i want and enjoy my holiday without thinking 'can i do this' all the times. Until these countries are as liberal to the west as we are to them , this is not for me.

Even under the so called rules and restrictions you still have a great time, yes it's a different kind of holiday, if you look in right places you can certainly get more trust me but everything is not about being jacked out of your nut all time.
I for one fancy this place as something different, yes I'm a lads lad boozing every weekend etc etc but when on my jollies I like to chill out, few beers here and there and some good scran.

Their country, their rules. You don't like it, you don't have to go.

You are right , the scummy football fans cant control themselves, so they do need the police there.
But I'm not talking about an unusual situation where there is known trouble. I'm talking about your average holiday where you go to relax and unwind. Spain or Greece, you aren't comparing like for like. In that situation there are restrictions as to what you can do in Dubai, just depends whether you are happy with them I guess.

Smack bang in the middle of Ramadan. Good if you want to observe the month of Ramadan in an Islamic country while staying in luxury surroundings

Too hot, no booze! Not a bad location though.

As mentioned, alcohol is cheap there. So are the fags. If you go over the customs limit, you can consume the rest at the airport prior to departure I guess ..

4× 1 litre bottles per person is the Dubai customs limit.AFAIK I don't know of any other country which has similar limits.
Better to stock up before entering Dubai as it's not easy to buy a bottle of spirit legally ( unless you have a permit)

Went last year during Ramadan. Great time to go ,beach was empty .Alcohol is not served anywhere unless its connected to a licensed hotel..No big issue as hotels everywhere and be discrete if taking a tipple down to beach and you will be fine..yes its very hot and very very humid.,If you need alcohol for your room stock up at Dubai airport as a duty free area after security

Alcohol not served during Ramadan until dusk.

You can buy 2 bottles of booze at the airport duty free shop and ration it during the day if you can't wait for dusk. Also the 'rationing' should only be done in the privacy of your room.
